Oak Recording Studio

Awesome Guys! I came here because I got a 4 hour gift certificate for Christmas. Ended up staying and doing my whole record (8 songs). The experience was top notch and they really helped me to find the sound I was looking for. The vintage gear and studios don't disapoint either. Ended up recording in all 3 studios for different parts of my record. If you are looking for the studio who cares about your music and are sick of being disapointed with doing it your self or going to the big guys who only care if you are paying $20,000+ this is the place to go!

When I decided to record a few songs I started looking for a studio that was located in my neighbourhood. I found that Oak Recording Studio was a short walk from home so I met with Damon to discuss any and all options. He was professional and kind. I had never had an enjoyable experience recording my songs and he made me feel at ease. The cost was incredibly reasonable and the studio itself was equipped with top gear and instruments that were all available to use while recording at Oak. I decided to start the project and booked my first session.Damon introduced me to Gord who would be my Producer/Engineer and we started our sessions. Gord and I quickly developed an amazing working relationship. His musicianship and technical skill behind the board allowed me to feel at ease. Every session I had at Oak Recording Studio was top notch. Gord really knows his stuff! And he was very generous sharing his knowledge and experience. I couldn't be happier with the results!

I've worked in many studios, behind the board as well as in the booth, and this was one of the most enjoyable experiences I've ever had. I did a whole lot of tracking with Gord Richards, who is fast and efficient, makes great suggestions regarding arrangement, and is supportive, encouraging and has very good ears. Really good people skills too. The 'back and forth' with Damon during the mixing process worked out very well. The gift certificate method of payment (rather than paying an hourly rate) is a bit unusual but if you're realistic about what you can achieve in a certain amount of time it keeps you on budget. I highly recommend Oak. Good people in a casual, easy-going and productive environment.

If you want to record your music professionally, I would highly recommend this studio. The guys have worked with top industry professionals and it shows. Not only did I come out with an amazing EP, I also have developed my songwriting and musical ability through working with Gord and Damon. I wouldn't record anywhere else. Keen to go back in again and keep working on my craft.

Amazing experience from the start! Came in for a tour, where they showed me all their impressive equipment and answered all my questions. Ended up recording the Hit Single" package which I highly recommend for any pop artists. I never felt rushed

Recording at Oak Recording Studio was a truly great experience. Producer/ Engineer/ multi-instrumentalist Gord Richards was extremely easy to work with from Day 1, tirelessly providing his awesome talent and constructive/creative ideas to the EP project at every phase. The process was never rushed, with plenty of time to experiment with different instruments and layers so the songs could naturally evolve into their best form. Damon de Szegheo was a great teacher throughout the whole process, providing helpful suggestions and guidance in many aspects of the music/recording industry; bringing his excellent drumming and mastering skills to the project as well. ORS team member Kristy Hagerman generously assisted with background vocals on the first track of the recorded EP, was always welcoming as well as inspirational with her own music career development. With high attention to detail and a genuine respect for making quality music, this is the perfect studio for developing your sound and artistic concepts/ideas, providing you with the tools and support to bring your musical vision to life.
