Vlasta's Dress Making

I bought a wedding dress that was 2 sizes too small (that's a whole other story) but Vlasta is a miracle worker!!! She made the dress fit like a glove and was so quick to get it back to me! I was nervous that I wouldn't have my dream dress for my wedding day and she made sure that I did. I honestly can't thank her enough and I 100% would recommend. She's also VERY well priced!! If you're looking for an amazing seamstress, take this as your sign to look no further!

I am giving this woman's business a 1 star and here's why. Almost 13 years ago I asked if I could help out at Vlasta's to gain experience prior to going to school for fashion. I was trying to gain some exposure and create a portfolio.I was a very shy - person willing to learn and ready to learn.Instead of encouraging me, each working day I was there this woman would constantly put me down in front of her staff telling me I would never make it in the industry and I wasn't good enough because I could not understand patterns. Mind you I was 18 at the time with prior knowledge in sewing ( and regardless it is so irrevelant to when someone wants to pick up a hobby or get into an industry they are passionate about).As the days passed I was miserable being there and learning nothing (she has 0 patience and likes to yell).I started to realize that she treated everyone like this and it wasn't personal.13 years later I have been working in the fashion industry ever since - I went to school for pattern making/ fashion design- and at 31 I am currently travelling the world going to Paris Fashion Week and living my dream.Thank you for teaching me to be the complete opposite!xx

Professional and personable! Quiana custom-made my wedding dress and the process couldn't have gone more smoothly. From our first brainstorming visit to the fabric store, through each my idea changes and the fittings, down to the fine tuning of accessories - these ladies were amazing!For the old world" quality at reasonable prices

Vlasta did an amazing job on altering my wedding dress! She worked with my tight deadline and took her time to figure out the best way to alter a challenging dress. Another company quoted me triple the price and recommended certain alterations that I didn't need. I recommend Vlasta to everyone! She's amazing and prices are the lowest you'll find anywhere!

I booked an appt to have my wedding dress altered at Vlastas in Hamilton. The woman would not take my name down and when I arrived, two individuals sewing said for me to go put on my dress. As I started walking, two large Dogs came around me from under a desk. The change room floors were so dirty, it was unsettling to put a long white dress on the floor. Once dressed, I walked across the filthy floors into a large room and as my dress dragged on the floor there was a huge puddle of Urine. I decided I was NOT comfortable leaving my wedding dress there and went to change. My dress was so dirty all along the bottom. I think I made the right decision to leave and go elsewhere. NOT impressed at all.

Very quick and priced really well. I went in to get my maid of honor dress shortened just a little bit, be sure to remember to bring the shoes you'll be wearing with the dress! I was told I could pick it up 2 weeks later, I did and it was perfect. I think I would have felt a bit better though if they had taken at least my name for the dress, but they don't take any of your information (unless you're a bride), they just tell you come back in x weeks"But overall

I've been a customer of Vlasta's for 35 years, and she never disappoints

I absolutely love this place, the owner is such a sweet and kind lady. She customized matching outfit for my little kids and also did this amazing job for my daughter dress from graduation. I highly recommend it.
