Visiting Vancouver and have been looking for a place to sing karaoke. Decide to check this place out and arrived at 9 when it started. Not many people there (at first) so the podium was pretty much mine as I went through my warm up songs. Had a bite to eat and kept going. Then the doors opened and within minutes it filled up with young 20 somethings. It was such a great experience re how friendly everyone was and the glowing look of life from their beaming smiles. Some of the people had amazing voices but it didn’t matter, good, mediocre, 1st time or veteran, the place roared with approval. Didn’t know a soul but very friendly like family. The Karaoke captain did a great job using barcode scanning for songs to be loaded so the music kept flowing. Music was good, food was good, staff were good, atmosphere etc were all good. What a great place and thank you for the memory which will be shared many times when I go back to Toronto. Next time I visit Vancouver this will be my Sanctuary.

This is a little dive restaurant. I had a good salmon burger with great fries. My guest tried to have the butter chicken but it was not available. Had the signature burger and fries...said they were good. They are good at customizing your orders and listen to your requests. The menu is very limited...don't even serve a cup of tea, more bar like. My thoughts are the place is very very worn looking and could use a real scrub from floor to ceiling. So my rating is on the overall experience.

There is karaoke daily (except Monday), which I love. Everyone gets into it. The host John is great, friendly. Broad song selection. Crowd varies from student age to older couples. Quite a mixed crowd. Bar hosts are awesome, we have had some fun times.

Great owner, great food, even the fries are amazing with lagers during happy hour on the patio, love the corner location within walking distance to the beach too!

This used to be our industry watering hole for good ol’ fashioned karaoke fun in kitsilano. But now they have the servers running the show instead of a host with only one mic… oh and they charge industry bartenders 8 dollars for water. Feel like the owner should show a little more love for our neighbours who bring people in all the time!

I had the greatest experience! The choice of beers and cocktails is amazing and the food was really tasty. Big up to John and his karaoke, it was so much fun and to Santiago for despacito!! Will definitely come back!

Cheap drinks, good food, great atmosphere! Open mic on Thursdays brings out a lot of talented folk.Shout out to the manager, Sanjay! Welcoming, warm, and friendly, what more could you ask for in a bar manager?If you're musically inclined and love to see passionate people and inspiring artists, come out to the Charqui!

A place to belt out some Scarioki. I picked a song, out of thousands, and the guy ahead of me started singing it. He was so good I just humbly sat down and became a fan. The dude had elements of Prince in his voice.
