We had a great experience renting bear spray for our west coast trail trip. Johann was super helpful and flexible with drop off and pick up times. It was also good quality gear for a great price. Highly recommend West Coast Gear for backpacking gear rentals!

Incredible communication and smooth pick up and drop off for the gear. We rented tents and sleeping pads and absolutely loved them. They were great quality and we were very comfortable. Wonderful and easy set up. I will be renting from West Coast Gear for me next camping trip.

I rented from West Coast Gear during the Summer of 2020 to take on the Cape Scott Trail (4 days). I took the 1 Man Tent, Sleeping Pad, 0 Degree Sleeping Bag and Gaiters, and I was greatly impressed with the high quality and durability of the gear.The trail is on the North Island and known for its muddy trails, unpredictable rain/ wind, and cold nights, but the gear did not disappoint! I was comfortable on the Sleeping Pad, very warm in the Sleeping Bag, and woke up nice a dry in the Tent. I was impressed with their friendly service and hospitality towards their customers.I would definitely rent from them again, and encourage anyone else to if they want high quality, cost efficient, and lightweight backpacking gear.

Best place to go for gear rentals! Staff were communicative, flexible and very accommodating when I had to change the dates of my rental and add on a last minute rental item. Gear was good quality and well looked after. Highly recommend!

Customer service is top notch. Gear is of excellent quality and condition. Pick-up and drop-off was seamless and place is easy to find (had own car). Will be using again.

Rented a tent and cooler for a last minute trip to Tofino. Johann was quick to respond and the gear was in great condition. Pictured is the 1 person tent - nice and compact for our tight space with great clearance for a tall gal like me!

I rented gaiters, bear spray (came with holster), and a small isobutane tank for the Juan de Fuca hike. Johann was super helpful and responsive via the chat function on the website. Bear spray initially wasn’t available for rent on my requested dates, but he went out of his way to get an extra bottle. Pick-up was basically in front of the house and very easy to find. Great experience!
