Big Hymies

Stopped in to this roadside stand on our way from Halifax to Sydney. The food was awesome! Great taste, huge portions and low prices... if I am back that way, I will stop in again!

This place used to be great, but the last time we ate there it took over 45 minutes to get our burger, fries and clams... the burger was ok but the clams were undercooked and portions were a lot smaller than before.Very disappointed we won't be back.

Great Food even if there is a little bit of wait they give you so much if it and it tastes just fantastic its gotta be one of my favorite places to eat on the way and back from locharbor lake!

The donair hot dog was delicious. Onion rings were just like we use to get at Melmerby Beach many moons ago.

After having fresh clams while touring the Eastern shore, when I got back home to Antigonish County, I did a broad search and could not find anyone serving fresh fried clams. While touring parts of Cape Breton, we did a similar search and nothing but clam strips! Then someone mentioned Big Hymies and my hubby and I drove an hour in pursuit of clams. Well, Big Hymies delivered the best clams we had ever had. The batter was perfect, light and the clams were succulent! Perfection! Oh and what a generous portion for a very reasonable price! Visit this food truck, take your box of deliciousness to a picnic table near the lake close by and enjoy!!! You will not be sorry!

Big Hymies Is a great place to take your family and friends either if your on vacation or you live down near one of their locations. The food at Big hymies is something else, it’s one of the best meals I’ve had in awhile. I talked to the owner, and he seemed very nice and friendly I’d love to see Big Hymies have a large family of restaurants either in Canada or all around the world.

I’ve been here a few times over the yearsAnd I’ll have to admit the food was terrible overall.I honestly tossed it in the garbage my last visitI can’t say for sure but Maybe people think it’s good because of lack of options or know the people that own the place.
