I love this place. Staff are wonderful — approachable, knowledgeable, and helpful. Bathrooms are clean. The whole VPL system is awesome. We are so lucky here in Vancouver.

Small VPL branch. A decent selection of loans and there are helpful and friendly staff. The library is usually quiet, though sometimes when it gets busy there can be a slight hum of whispers and noise. Although it is mostly out of convenience, I visit often and order holds to this branch. Overall, it gets the job done, though keep in mind this branch is little (not much table space/chairs).

A great place with friendly employees! They don't have work stations in case you are looking to work from there but they have a lovely patio. I would recommend you to bring something to put on any of the tables to protect your computer. They have a very lovely community garden as well :)

This is my VPL location that serves our family for the many activities and borrowing of books, cds, movie DVDs and general entertainment that is available... the biggest special feature to this Kitsilano site is the care and quality service by the staff.. any question will be answered either directly or with asking another staff member.. the Covid-19 situation is very well taken care here at Kits VPL.. again, the staff are super and “””thumbs-up””” To each and every one of them !!

This library is obviously geared toward children's enrichment! And that is awesome for the parents and children themselves! I feel shame when I read the reviews badmouthing this establishment. I understand everyone is entitled to their own opinions but it seem kind of selfish to me when coffee shops are every where these days!

The staff are very helpful and friendly to everyone. There are many computers for people to use. I understand at the front of the library in the young children's area is it is noisy. But the whole library is noisy I found this 10 years ago but thought I would try it again. The quiet reading area by the magazines and by the laptop area should be a place for quiet reflection, thinking, reading and study. But many people treat these areas like a coffee shop and loudly whisper. Which disturbs other people's peace and inner reflection. some folks just are not honoring the needs of others, when a person respects their own needs they are more of other's needs Libraries are meant to be quiet places. The staff need set firm boundaries around quiet levels in the quiet study areas ie. put up signage.I go to the Coquitlam Poirier branch for quiet study as this library has two quiet areas in which the librarians are very firm that no whispering or talking of any kind is to occur here as these are areas for quiet reflection and study. Lots of students and professionals or folks just trying to quietly read I notice sit in these areas. There are signs in these areas firmly expressing people must be quiet in these rooms. Kits library needs to set a similar tone in the quiet areas of the library. Currently it is like a community center or coffee shop not a library.

Small, had limited power outlets, but they got more of em. They seem friendly enough behind the desk. Presumably you can request books from the main library, which is convenient if you live in kits

I'm reviewing this to counter some of the negative comments I read about this branch of the Vancouver Public Library. I've been using this library for over 3 years. I've never had a negative experience, not one, and I visit the library approximately once a month. It's clean and well maintained. It's a small branch so there are not a lot of books on the shelves, but with the magic of the reserve system, any book you want will be delivered to the branch and held for you there, usually within a week of booking it on the vpl website. I would enjoy more books at the branch, but I appreciate that they are balancing the needs of the users and the demands on the space. This building is not a study area, it's not going to offer quiet, or a place to plug in your laptop. That's not the facility's purpose, nor should it be. It's a single floor that houses books, a children's area, a computer lab, cd's, videos, video games, and more.

Of the VPL branches I've used this is far and away the most squalid.Always crowded and noisy. No quiet study area. Parking is a gong show.Good luck getting anywhere near an electrical outlet if you're hoping to use a laptop. Not a whole lot of books in the stacks as libraries go.The neighbourhood has outgrown this undersized rundown facility.
