Terrible experience. In multiple conversations before my lot purchase, completion of the development, how the 'park' area would be developed, and how resident and tenant parking would be dealt with were discussed. Misrepresentations were made. Agreement made under the original purchase contract regarding construction financing was withdrawn by the developer at a late date, making it impossible to back out of the purchase (however the same financing arrangements were offered to other clients shortly thereafter). Endless delays, with the final possession date constantly changing. Design Guidelines for the development are part of the purchase contract - however the Design Guidelines appear meaningless, as there is random compliance and no requirement from the developer for compliance, with different rules (or no rules) for different homeowners. Landscape completion was a nightmare from start to finish, resulting in excessive additional expense.No security on the job site during construction. No effort made to keep flooring from being damaged during construction. Once I took possession, it was a constant argument to get unfinished work completed and deficiencies corrected, including fixing safety code violations which resulted in receiving advice from the City and the Province that my home would be declared 'unsafe for habitation' and would have to be vacated.I had the same experience as the other poster with 'nickel and diming'. I had the same experience with my appliances - I sourced better quality appliances at a lower price, but because there was no commission, the builder wouldn't allow for delivery and installation until after possession - resulting in move-in chaos. Because I didn't want the builder-sourced wire shelving in my closets, they wouldn't let me have ANY shelving in the closets - no other shelving subcontractor was allowed to come in and install shelving before possession. More move-in chaos.In my opinion, communication was always difficult and unpleasant, often with no response or long delays to emails and messages. It was not always clear who, if anyone, was in charge. There was no interest in working collaboratively to resolve issues. I felt that once all deposits and payments were made, there was no interest in whether or not obligations have been met and you are satisfied with your home.There are many honest builders in Kelowna with integrity, and who will treat you with respect, who take pride in workmanship, client service, and working together with you to ensure you will be happy with your finished home and the neighbourhood they are creating. Choose one of those good builders instead....thanks for your response.For security reasons, it is not recommended that names be used on internet postings and reviews. However I would be extremely foolish if I submitted a fake or duplicate review, because it is a simple matter to conduct an IP search of reviewers to confirm identity.To be clear, I did not request any change to the financing arrangements under the original contract. The builder requested multiple extensions before finally changing the original contract.As you know, the City does not always conduct electrical inspections of homes prior to granting final approval and occupancy - inspections are done on a random basis. The City regularly grants occupancy without inspections being completed.And as you know and as the City inspector confirmed, the City granted occupancy of my home without an electrical inspection. The walk-through did not reveal the electrical deficiencies and damage to the panel, because they were behind the panel cover which had been screwed in place. Once the electrical issues came to light, the City advised that the damaged electrical panel had to be replaced. The inspector was required to notify the Province of his safety concerns. The inspector advised that the Province would be issuing a Notice pursuant to the BC Building Code, that my home was unsafe for habitation and would have to be vacated. The electrical panel was replaced before the Notice was issued.

We work closely with Teresa and Curtis at Ovation Homes to build our new home. We are impressed by their professional. It is crucial to have a developer and home builder clearly explain what you can do and what you cannot do, what are your rights and what are not your rights (e.g., what is public, what is private). Teresa clearly elaborated all the regulations and policies with us.Unlike many developers and home builders, Ovation Homes offered great options and flexibility to buyers. We are very glad to have many options without adding a lot on our budget.The site is very closed to UBC, the Kelowna International Airport, the Aberdeen Hall. Wonderful valley view and major stores are in 10-15 minutes driving distance. It is one of the few ideal sites in Kelowna for young families and young professionals.

We just moved into our new home on Acadia st three weeks ago. It’s amazing!!!We were skepticalabout building a new home, but from the very first meeting with Teresa we were sold. She designed our home and made multiple changes at no charge. The owners of ovation home were hands on. Made suggestions and had ideas that we did not even think of. The building process was flawless. Even after we have moved in they are here for us . I would recommend these guys any day.

Worst experience ever! They don’t have integrity to do faire business.The landscape is not included in house purchase which is tricky, if you contract the work to the authorized company by Ovation Homes, they charge you a fortune and you can see how poor jobs they have done by having a look there!If you want to save money by doing the landscape by yourself, they never responded you on time, the designer was super busy, never answered our phone calls or texts until we complained to Ovation Homes many times, and took ages to come to a design.The landscape company spent months to approve the design internally, and then find tons of excuses not giving back our deposit for landscaping. You can imagine how much interests they have by doing this!I wish never have bought house from Ovation Homes! So much headache!

Horrible experience getting my house built ! Nickle and dimed me to death. Did not allow me to have my appliances installed early ( because I got them separate from the packaged they offered) Made it hard to approach them on deficiencies. Argued about correcting the deficiencies. Nothing went smoothly.... awful.

Ovation Homes was a pleasure to deal with for our custom home build. After first meeting with Teresa, then Curtis, Gina and Brian, it was clear that we were in good hands with very skilled, caring and capable professionals in the house building business. The quality of workmanship, consistency and attention to detail was absolutely top notch. We are extremely grateful to have been able to consult with them throughout all stages of the design and the building process and were met with patience, consideration for our ideas as well as creative ideas they had to offer as well to make our house the best place for us. We are thrilled with the results and so happy to have had the privilege of working with this team. We would highly recommend Ovation homes to anyone considering a custom home build.

Great home builder with innovative designs and very high quality materials. The design team is very open to ideas and collaborative.

I really appreciate Teresa for the great help. We have made quite a few iterations for the house design. She is always patient and gave us the optimal one.
