This year we decided to add a retaining wall to add square footage to our back yard. Old Fashioned Excavating had a competitive bid as well as great ideas on how to get the most out of the project. From the beginning they were very efficient, professional and helpful in getting the project done. We were so impressed that half way through we expanded the scope to include a sunk in gas fire pit, terrace and extension of the useable lawn area.They were transparent in every aspect of the project from pricing to expectations on the end results. Their billing was consistent, clear and always fair.Their employees were all very professional to me and my family. When researching them initially I really liked their value statement about having an old fashioned work ethic. I thought it was a good idea as that is rare these days but didn’t know that I would see it every day, from every person. They worked from the minute they got to site right until the minute they left and wasted no time in between. Even when the foreman was away the team was always working on the project, prepping another area or cleaning up and maintaining the site. It is special when you see a team buy into a genuine vision and value system of a company like Old Fashioned Excavating. You’d be hard pressed to find a harder working crew.They were also very knowledgeable about their work and what they could do with their equipment. This project involved thousands of trips down a steep temporary hill with only inches of play on each side. All while working in an established neighborhood with no room for error. Their team operated the equipment in a safe and efficient manor that very few would have been able to pull off. Every day we were impressed with their professional level of operating.One of my favorite things about them was how they treated my neighbors during this process. Construction is messy for everyone and they helped me keep my neighbors happy by ending every day with a clean worksite, right down to sweeping my neighbors driveway.Since our project has ended they have continued to follow up to make sure we were still happy. They stand by their work and have been quick to pick up the call and answer any follow up questions we have had.Any construction project on your property should be a positive journey for you and your family as you work to make your space more useful to you and a reflection of who you are.
