Hong Bo Burger & Poutine

Decided to try this place on a whim and was not disappointed.Ordered two combos the shrimp and pulled pork burger. The shrimp patty was fairly large and packed full of shrimp l. The pulled pork was a bit dry and could have used a bit more sauce. We were so impressed that we ended up going back for the teriyaki burger which was better than the pulled pork but still preferred the shrimp patty.Sides were also spot on fries were crispy and thick while the buttered corn was sweet and savory.But the best part of the meal was by far the presentation of the burgers. They look perfect like they were pulled straight from a burger commercial.

Located at the First Markham Place food court. Gotta give them props for having the cajones to open up a burger/poutine place in an Asian food court.Been to First Markham Place food court more times than I can count, always went for their great Asian food selections but noticed this kiosk in the corner and decided to YOLO it based on previous reviews.Skeptically I ordered the crispy shrimp burger combo (choice of fries or salad, drink, $1 extra for ice lemon tea). Took approx 10 mins to cook up my order.Nice husband and wife operationChoice of either their original, charcoal or beet bun. Went with their original bun which was covered in sesame seeds. Bun was fluffy and moist.As Charlie Sheen would yell winner

I ordered their shrimp burger which was pretty good. Not many places have this on the menu. The poutine is not something I would order again. Not bad, but better options exist. I tried getting the beets bun and charcoal bun. Both tasted very similar and seems like just a gimmick.

If you are looking for great hamburgers, this place is a must try one! The crispy chicken is indeed crispy and tender. The shrimp burger is as delicious as the stuffed crab claw you get at a Chinese wedding banquet. Don't forget to try their iced coffee; not too much ice there but enough to enhance the drinking experience and releases more nuanced flavor. Staff is well-mannered and price is very reasonable!

This place was suggested by a friend and it was amazing! I got the crispy shrimp and my boyfriend for the crispy chicken. Both were cooked perfectly, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. My boyfriend usually doesn't like getting chicken as to make it tender, sometimes it's still a little raw inside, but it was not the case here! Even though we got it for takeout, the food was still very hot and fresh when we got home.Their combo can be upgraded for an extra cost for either size of the poutine. The poutine was an amazing portion and pretty good as well. The gravy was different from the usual gravy so it took a little getting used to but it was still great! I got the bacon and corn poutine and also the pulled pork one and they did not skimp on the topping. The bacon was thick slice bacon too, not the bacon crumbs. The combo also comes with iced tea or iced coffee and both were great. The coffee could be a little stronger but it was creamy and not too sweet so we'll be getting it again.They are located in the food court and for a food court stall, it was very clean and service was amazing! Highly recommend!

Amazing Crispy Shrimp Burger! It was made fresh to order - highly recommend giving it a try. Their Iced Coffee is also pretty good: creamy, rich and full of flavour.Love their choices of unique buns also: charcoal (black), beets (pink), or spinach (green).They’re located in the food court of First Markham Place Shopping Mall. The mall has ample free parking but it can get busy on the weekend so can be challenging.Had our food to-go and service was fantastic; friendly and fast! Once order is placed, a number is printed and was verbally informed of an estimated wait time on when your food will be ready.

first time trying this place and honestly, kinda disappointed after seeing all the great reviews. ordered the teriyaki burger, received a plain one instead. would’ve been okay but the burger patty was very tiny, bland, and over cooked and the buns were ridiculously huge. the tomatoes were also very mealy which made for a very unpleasant mouthfeel. my burger didn’t come with any sauce so it was very dry overall and i couldn’t get more than a few bites in without putting it aside because it was quite off putting. also got a crispy chicken burger that was marginally better but still very dry and the kimchi burger was about the same as the (not)teriyaki burger.

First tried this burger place and was really nice! We had charcoal shrimp burger & beet seafood burger! Owners were really nice too! Will be our to go spot for burgers especially my daughter doesn't eat meat.

Came here for lunch after hearing good things about the place. In particular their shrimp burger.We ordered the shrimp and teriyaki beef burger, teriyaki burger was a decent burger. Shrimp burger on the other hand was really good and contained a decent amount of shrimp. Toppings are already included.Can order a regular, beet or charcoal bun.A nice place to get burgers overall.Will come back to try their other menu items.
