The Roof at Black & Blue
We came for happy hour to the roof on a Thursday. Most of the tables were full but we were able to get a spot. I always love the view up at the Roof because you can see the Fairmont from there.We ordered the Wagyu beef carpaccio, the ahi tuna tartare and the oysters. For cocktails we got the sangria and Prosecco.The Wagyu beef carpaccio was lacking in beef flavour. It was cut a little too thin for me to pick up (just a snag). The tuna tartare was not bad. Very fresh tasting and I liked the addition of the pineapple. The chip went perfectly with the tuna tartare. The oysters were pretty standard. The sangria was delicious as usual.Overall for happy hour they have a pretty big menu compared to other restaurants. They have a wide variety and the portions are pretty big. The service was super friendly and helpful when it comes to making decisions on the menu. This is the place to be if you are looking for a snack and drinks with friends and a nice location but not for food

This is a cool place for sure, but we went for Happy Hour and had better food in other places in Vancouver for sure. The Mac and cheese bites were good, but the wagyu brisket was over cooked. Overall it wasn’t bad, but def over priced for all the hype.

Went to The Roof at Black & Blue for work lunch for the first time and loved its rooftop decor. I think the salad that I had was a Cobb Salad, but looks like they took it off the menu now because I don't see it anymore! My colleagues said the flatbread was really good, so I might try that next time.

Our first time in Vancouver BC and after a heavy days shopping we visited this restaurant, having passed it earlier in the day, for a quick drink. We initially sat outside at street level only to be directed to the roof terrace accessed by a lift - this was a fortunate move for us that was well received.Briefly; a stunning roof terrace with the kitchen open to the seating area. Not much of a view but the cool vibe, smooth fixtures and furniture and chilled sound track more than made up for this. Our drink quickly turned into a meal and several drinks. The food was excellent and not as pricey as the surroundings would lead you to believe. The waiting staff were as alert and attentive than any that I have encountered. A lush experience. I fully recommend a visit.

My girlfriend and I love this place!! We come here for happy hour and it has always been amazing! The staff are friendly - make sure you make a reservation before coming in just to guaranty a spot!

I like the atmosphere here, always good vibes around. We tried dine out 2023, the appetizer I chose scallops and bacon, I liked it. The main steak I ordered as medium rare, inside was perfect, but bit overcooked outside for me….it was hard. The sauce was good as well the side. I wish I had a more variety of salad thou. The dessert crème brûlée was bit sweet to me. Overall, it was good, but not the best this year.

Lovely place for steak! We has the breaded cauliflower that was perfectly roasted to sweetness and tuna tartare as started. The homemade potato chips was perfectly crisped. The main entree was a 55 ounce Tomahawk steak, served medium rare, with fingerling roasted potatoes, sweet peppers and brussels sprouts. Ask for extra side of chimmichura sauce. Street parking for 2hrs or parking garage nearby. If you are chilled they bring you a warm blanket.

My friends and I went to The roof at black and blue to celebrate Easter. The ambience and even the servers were good. Our group ordered oysters, flat bread and a beef dish. I was the only one that order blackened ahi tuna and everything was going well until i started vomiting through the entire night. No one else had problem as they didn’t have it. I was the only one among my friends ordered this dish.The edges of the tuna was cooked but the insides were raw like i could taste the rawness of the fish. I have had the blackened tuna before from other restaurants and this was the first time. I had a upset stomach and was puking for 3 days.The manger called and said they talked to the chef and couldn’t find any problem it seems. This experience scarred me and i dont think i will ever go back.Attached is the picture of the dish, you can clearly see how raw the center of the fish is.

The Roof at Black & Blue
Our experience today was wonderful, thanks in large part to our server Michel and the manager as well! A special thanks to them both. He was fast, attentive, funny and considerate. The happy hour options are excellent with good portions and easily shared. I recommend the brisket and the skewers. And going there!
