Alberta Precision Laboratories (GULF SQ)

They do not keep anywhere close to their appointment times. You have to book an appointment months in advance. There almost isn't a point to making an appointment because you will still wait a very long time. I've had this happen at every Alberta precision labs I've tried. Due to availability of appointments I've had to go to several, all over the city just to avoid waiting even longer for an appointment. Getting bloodwork done in this province is ridiculously delayed and difficult ever since the labs went private. Thanks UCP!When I finally went in for the draw, the phlebotomist had extreme difficulty processing the requisition and took another 15 minutes.When it came to the actual poke, after she swabbed the area, she felt the vein again, did not re-sterilize the area, and stuck the needle in before I could say anything. I'm a medical professional very familiar with IVs and blood draw procedures. Not only do I have very large veins where palpating was unnecessary, but touching the site with non sterile hands and poking without swabbing it again is UNACCEPTABLE. This is how you give a patient phlebitis.

Appointment at 1pm, waiting for 1 hour and 10 minutes, still have to wait.Why need appointment?When I talk to the receptionist, she just turn her deaf ear to you and said you have to line up.What makes the service look unacceptable?

The worst lab ever I visited in Calgary. The wait time was 2 hours or more and I already had an appointment because they are not organized & understaffed. All patients specially seniors were very frustrated as the place was too crowded. The stuff said they do not control booking so they are overbooked. They keep on handing us a sheet of contact to complain as they do not care.

Checking in to my appointment I was told I’d be waiting at least 30 minutes after my appointment time. Many had been waiting 2 hours past their appointment time to be seen. Gotta wonder why they schedule appointments at all, let alone why they book - at the earliest - a month out.

Made an appointment for July 3rd the system let me ! 3 weeks …Paid for parking got there to find it closed! My husband needed blood work for a specialist appointment for Thursday (waited months for this appointment) now he will not have his blood work So unprofessional! He works to late to be able to get into a walk in appointment! That’s why I made him this one !

If you don't have a apoiment they leave you waiting forever. It doesn't matter what time you last ate or/plus if you have chronic tummy problems. They make you wait forever.Is better when they saying there is no apoiment.Verified by the person who attends more than 84 minutes and I'm still here…I have very serious problems. It is not a problem of who attends, they are cordial persons.They shouldn't say yes to walk in, They do not know the internal problem of each person. I don't recommend coming here as a walk in patient as the wait time is too long. As I am writing this, I've been here for 3.5 hours and still waiting to be called.But last year I came here with an appointment and everything went smoothly and on time.

I had an immigration blood test. For Ukrainians of the CUAET program, it is free. Definitely need to make an appointment. The average procedure time is 30 minutes. Everything was great.

Wow... Had an appointment and they were running an hour late for scheduled appointments. What poor service. How can u run a business every day and screw it up that bad?? Theres a reason book appointments... It's because they don't want to WAIT AND HOUR!

Alberta Precision Lab (GULF SQ) has just earned itself a BIG 1-Star! What's the purpose of scheduling an appointment and be told I need to wait for an hour because of the over crowding number of walk-ins?! This is totally unacceptable. If people prefer to do walk-in and waste their time waiting in the crowded waiting room, it is not my problem. I urge no one should book for their blood test at this location... and possibly other Alberta Precision Lab is this is the way they operate their business. Maybe it is time for them to learn their lesson and change.
