Burquitlam Transfer Centre

My husband's body was brought here after his unexpected death and my and my family's grief was overwhelming. The staff here (Megan was on our team) made this excruciatingly painful experience much less excruciating through compassion, understanding and the ability to sit with our family's trauma and take as much time as we needed. We were able to have multiple viewings of my husband's body which was crucial for processing grief. I Thank each and every one of the staff members involved in this process: I got to see and touch my partners body, the last times to say goodbye- it meant the world to me. The staff were wonderful beyond measure and I appreciate their calm and caring demeanor. The fact that I got time to hold my partners hand, that he was dressed as he would have wanted, that Jay would have loved the staff working with him- it made such a difference in the grief process. What a gift in the midst of such tragedy. ♥️
