Guelph Central Station

Often locked and inaccessible with zero signage/communication of the hours of operation. If it happens to be unlocked, the bathrooms are all still locked and no staff is on site. It's been beautifully renovated but now sits empty most of the time. It probably should of been sold as commercial real estate instead of renovated, as it serves no purpose but a simple waiting room with no amenities and extremely restricted hours. Use of the station might be limited due to COVID, but again there is no communication or signage to indicate this or otherwise.

So much money was spent on renovations here and every single time I take a train or bus from here it is closed.Prior to a 2.5 hr bus trip (with no washrooms on go bus - no trains on weekends), and traveling with a toddler, it would be really nice to have a washroom to use prior to departure.I am all for leaving the car at home but out transit system makes it really hard to do that. What is the point of a beautiful central station that is always locked?

Limited parking only private parking which is expensive Few places to sit that aren’t directly in the sun. The Station is always locked so no place to pee and only one place to tap.

This is what shocks me every morning!This is what I saw this morning. (Oct. 22nd 5:30am) Couple months ago the elevator glass doors are busted. And then just a month ago the entrance doors of the tunnel close to the station was also busted. Someone tried to break it. All glass doors are fixed now. Parking is a problem here, it is really limited maybe 15 spots that's it. Acton and Georgetown Stations have plenty of parking even without bus station. Guelph Central must improve the parking space due to Go Train, Via Rail and the bus station. Lots of homeless sleeps all over the place. Mostly inside the tunnel, elevator and inside the Station every corner. It's sad to see but they need to do some improvements here. There is also one time early in the morning about 5:25am,there is a police car parked by the tunnel stairs handcuffing 2 people. I don't know what happened but it scares me. The tunnel smells like urine and smokes and sometimes you see vials, syringes and needles on the floor.

Guelph deserves to have a better train station rather than this. When I entered the station, it seemed that I'm in the Western pioneering era. So wild!!!

Why is the station locked at mid day on Sunday when it's cold and raining out and trains are running? I watched person after person come to try the door only to find it locked.The parking spots and barely room to drop people off here is ridiculous too.

I was considering 3 stars but the new renovations and outlets scattered here and there make it a 4. I'm here all the time boarding trains and the facility is great.GO trains are always on time, VIA trains are always late... that's just the way it is.

Entrance is off Carden Street and there's an accessibility ramp. You can purchase tickets at the counter for regular train and for the commuter train you can use the self serve stations.The schedule is posted and easy to read.

Station is never open and the parking is basically non-existent so you end up paying Toronto parking rates in Guelph.
