Alberta Ballet School - Edmonton Studios

i dance here and love every second of it. the teachers are well trianed and know how to work with some dancers who need i bit of extra help. no one is aloud to exucled wich is a big step up from my old studio. the teachers are kind and know when to crack a joke even if the kids arent sure to laugh or not. when i only had one off day the teacher made sure i was okay. last but sertinly not least big shout out to hanna she dose alot for the dancers and alberta ballet would not be the same without her.

Amazing teachers and classes!

Very unprofessional shady studio. I emailed the school regard of my daughter to join their studio next year. I was told the intensive training classes are for students under 18. Last weekend I attended their year end shows, realized there were serveral young adults, as old as in their mid twenties dancing in the same intensive training classes with the teenagers. What a hypocrite, liar!

I joined to Adult Ballet class in the fall. I was able to attend three classes and couldn't continue due to an injury (unrelated to the class itself).Although I didn't find the class very useful at all (the instructor didn't offer handouts for the names of whatever we practiced and wasn't able to offer feedback regarding form given the size of the class and nature of some of the movements). I left having learned nothing I didn't learn from my New York City Ballet practice DVDs.There weren't appropriate warm ups or cool downs, the class just really was lacking in format or course structure.So although I didn't prefer the course to DVDs I emailed the administrator regarding potentially finishing my classes in the following semester due to injury, or maybe a partial refund. I specifically stated I knew I wasn't entitled to either but would appreciate it greatly. The Admin replied once-saying she had to ask someone else about it. She didn't get back to me the following week, as she said she would so I followed up and still heard nothing.I think it's very unprofessional and definitely has eliminated any chance of receiving my business in the future, blowing off a paying client like that.Regardless of how you feel about the school itself, strongly do not recommend the Adult Beginners class. It doesn't teach you the things you need to know to grow your skills as a dancer and offers many opportunities for injury.
