Simon and Chris are both genuine salt of the earth kind of guys. They went above and beyond and gave that good old fashioned customer service and support that so many companies seem to lack these days. Their diy heat pump saved me about $4000 and was quite simple and easy to install. Don't be scared to DIY! It was (and still is) quite literally a breeze! ;)

We are very happy with our new heat pump. After trying for weeks to get a quote for a heat pump from other companies we got frustrated and decided to go the DIY route. Chris was great to deal with and got back to us right away. The install was easier than expected and only took a few hours.I would highly recommend DIY Heat Pumps to anyone who is handy and is comfortable using a drill, wrenches and a level. We did hire an electrician for the wiring but the rest was very straight forward. The AC is working great so far and looking forward to seeing lower heating bills this coming winter.

Chris was amazing to work with, totally went out of his way to accommodate my hectic schedule. I installed the unit with no issues at all. just followed the instructions. Very very pleased with DIY Heat pumps!Chris was extremely helpful with the timing of the purchase, saving me some tax, and then with the rebate process, saving me some more money.He patiently answered all my installation questions, and there were a lot of them, even though at some point me must have gotten sick of seeing my name in his InBox.Finally, he assisted with a minor post-install issue.In all, the whole DIY A/C adventure went about as well as I could possibly have hoped for. I needed something to replace my inefficient and ineffective main floor baseboard heaters, and knew a heat pump was the way to go. Quotes for a professional install were thousands of dollars more than the DIY kit. Simon and Chris helped me get the right heat pump for my needs and offered some helpful advice for the install. The install went smoothly, and I was able to complete the whole project in a day. The Mr. Cool unit runs quietly and effectively, keeping our living areas at a comfortable temperature. The bonus of having cool air in the summer months is great. In fact, I like it so much I'm getting a second unit for our upstairs.

The top floor of my house is heated and cooled by a mini-split heat pump system. Two years ago, this malfunctioned and I ended up despairing of finding someone able and willing to fix it. Realising I was on my own, I explored do-it-yourself solutions and up popped DIY Heat Pumps. It did not take me very long to see that this was my answer. Simon greatly impressed me with his knowledge of the Mr. Cool 12000K unit and after receiving some excellent advice, I placed my order. I wanted to use the line pathways of the original install, which were not quite a standard Mr. Cool install, and Simon had all the answers of how to do this. My order arrived and within 48 hours, I had removed the old unit and the new unit was in, tested and working. I did have the advantage of being able to use an existing, electrician installed, 110 volt hookup. The new unit is so much more efficient than the old and both the inside and outside equipment are considerably quieter. I needed to get fifty feet between the two units and Simon correctly sourced all the pieces to make that possible. I was hugely impressed with how comprehensive the kit was, at no time did I have to down tools and make a side trip to the hardware store to fill in a missing part. The installation instructions were also very good. I did watch the online videos, but I could have worked with the paper instructions alone. It was great to have both, the hard copy just suits my learning style better. There were some challenges in getting the unit to my door, but Simon came through on that superbly. I clicked on five stars without a second thought, I could not be more satisfied.

Bought a 27k two head unit from Chris at diyheatpumps.ca. The whole process was great. Chris helped me pick the correct unit, answered my millions of questions via email and phone calls. The install itself went quite well and I am not anything like a carpenter. Follow the directions step by step and you'll be fine. Once installed I felt like one of the heads was not working like it should. I spoke to Chris and he assured me it would be taken care of. He took me through some troubleshooting steps and then got me in touch with Mr.Cool tech support. They walked me through a bunch of checks and in about 20 minutes had me sorted. (The electrical had been hooked up backwards). Both heads are now working great and we are super happy. Would 100% recommend.

Simon and the team were very helpful with purchase and after sales support. The unit was delivered promptly and was relatively easy to install. I had a vibration issue but Mr. Cool customer service was great in diagnosing and solving the problem. I highly recommend the system. It was a great upgrade to our home.
