I am a little old lady trying to restore an old oak entrance door. The previous owners ripped out and lost the original mortise and other parts of the opening mechanism. The staff at Spazio, with amazing patience and courtesy, have spent literally hours helping me find the parts I need. The store is full of beautiful old things, all carefully and neatly arranged. We are lucky to have such a place in Montreal.

Lots and varied antiques, but the prices are comparitively high. If I absolutely needed a specific accessory or part for an existing project, I would go here but I wouldn't start a project from anything here.

Beautiful and well-organized store with a wealth of inventory and very kind and knowledgeable staff. We came here to find antique door hardware to restore our 1920’s home. They were so helpful in assisting us to find everything we needed, down to the antique screws. A really gem!

Two large floors of a variety of antiques. Upstairs has stained glass, different sorts of mantlepieces, iron works including fence and gate stuff as well as bits and pieces from what looked like cast iron stoves. Lots of lights, including quite a wide selection of Art Deco chandeliers, as well as a smaller selection of nice Arts and Crafts style lighting. Tons of wall lights and sconces, as well as any type of door or furniture fixture/hardware you might like, including knobs, hinges, handles, hooks, etc.Downstairs has a *lot* of windows in a variety of stages of repair, as well as bathroom fixtures like ceramic sinks and knobs and such. Older wooden furniture and just general sorts of things I wouldn’t be surprised to find in a barn. A collection of trim that might come in real handy if you are adding a door or something gets damaged in your old place, and you want to find a match.Prices are kind of funny to discuss. For example, there was a big bin of matching doorknobs. Well-made, felt quite solid, had a pattern on the knob, cleaned up quite nicely. Each one was $50. Seems expensive—except the owners put in the legwork to probably drive all day to go collect a big bunch of knobs from who-knows-where (maybe using connections built over a really long time or even just following up on a rumour that something cool *might* be in a place) then cleaned and fixed them up. The amount of time and sheer luck I’d need to find a similar item? Enormous, maybe impossible, much less finding them in a large enough quantity for me to have as many as I want, and in a condition where they could be used.As it is, I’d say the prices are *perfectly fair* if you consider you are paying for gas, expertise, search time (including networking and dead ends), and dependable repair. This place is probably a godsend if you are a contractor or decorator who is looking for just the right thing. As someone who has an older place and is interested in the possibility of a few more limited projects…I was a bit overwhelmed. I couldn’t even bring myself to go into the separate door section, lest I have a total meltdown :)I would welcome a video or a blog post introducing the store to us newbies, like a general tour, maybe with the sorts of projects you can do with each section or general category of stuff. Like, here’s the types of problems you can solve with these old windows, just bring information X to the store. Here is something people do with these cast iron stove doors. What are the general types of lighting we specialize in, and how can you spot what-is-what? Then again, if you’re spending all your time driving to look at 50 doorknobs…maybe not :)

Old bits of house, for people looking for bits for their old houses. Worth a visit even if you aren't looking for anything.

Building itself is a must see. Inside too.For nostalgia, it was in the beginning a restaurant known as le gobelet" ans it was a trending place. Later became a "cage aux sports"; at a time when those places had airplane suspended as exhibit. Know it is a museum of antiques: chairs
