This school is really something else! I have met some of the most fascinating creatures lurking in the halls of this great little place. The mice in the building taught me more than the teachers ever will, mainly because the teachers are too busy to do their jobs. Despite this, I would highly recommend that we turn our attention to google, who still has not implemented the option to give a half star rating- the only rating that would do this laughable excuse of a school justice.

K-9 school in a newer neighbourhood. Like most schools, some staff are awesome, but others just talk a good game. Average amenities.

I went here through K-4, (this post will be bout grade 4) In class, we did a presentation about our cultures which seems perfectly fine right? But when I went up to do mine and finished the presentation my teacher completely invalidated me. She said “I’ve never heard of your culture before so therefore it doesn’t exist” me being a grade 4 kid did not know what to say to that other then to stay quiet. those were definitely the days ❤️❤️

I went to this school from grades 5-7, spanning the years 2010-2013 (from it's opening year), and while I think my time here was important to me and my growth, the school itself has very misplaced values that tarnish the experience. The first problem that rose was the fact that there were no schools on the South side at the time. Most of the kids that went there previously attended Steinhauer. Since this neighbourhood had already been lived in for some years, this school was extremely overcrowded. I believe at one point there was 7 different kindergarten classes going concurrently, taking up almost the entire south wing of the school, and even the portable classrooms they got in 2013 didn't solve the issue. Ultimately the effect of this was booting out the existing Junior High classes (grades 8-9 were no longer being run, the existing grade 7s would have to move schools, I was one of those grade 7s).Beyond that, the largest issue with the school was it's staff. Some of the staff present at the time of me attending this school were some of the best teachers I've ever had, but they contrasted heavily with others. If it wasn't them simply not appearing to like their job one bit (Margo Cahn), it was them having severe trust issues with their students to the point of demeaning them (Chad Heinz). As mentioned earlier, this school was heavily catered toward younger kids, as they were the largest sum of kids who attended. This showed in how the school allocated it's budget as well, and no one felt that harder than the older students.Likewise, the staff clearly did not know how to control the amount of kids there were at the time, and on the receiving end of their frustration was often the older ones. Constantly, you are told that you are setting an example for the little ones, that you must show 'decorum'. How did this wind up panning out? Well, pretty trivial schoolground occurrences turn into suspension-tier offenses if you are old enough, and this can get real bad. One time, in 6th grade during recess, I was sitting on a hill when some kid's goldfish crackers got stomped on by this other kid. Because I was closest by when the first returned, they thought it was me, and told the supervisor. Random kids I had never seen before were coming up and vouching against me saying things like Yes

I have been going to this school for 7 years now. The teaching and teachers are good. But most of the staff are very rude. They don't respect your space and accuse you of doing things that you didn't do or never happened. Don't recommend.

I was a former student here (from grades 3-7) I can say that this school is overall a decent school.Firstly I'd like to talk about the courses regarding junior high. The fact that many teachers actually teach more than 2 classes is not surprising, but the school seems short on teachers for some subjects. Also, the courses are overall nice and not too restricting although some courses teach some pretty useless stuff. I personally find the technology and applied skills classes quite useful. I cannot say anything about CAP Thursday as I have never experienced it.The teachers here are mostly very nice and helpful, but sometimes feel biased towards other students, also, I'd like to say that most teachers are quite well versed in the subjects that they teach. In regards to management of student situations, all the teachers seems to end up bringing consequences to both sides and prefer to push the situation off to others. The facilities in this school are one of the better ones that I have seen, the toilets are well cleaned, even though many students tend to fool around in it. The inside of the school is also well managed. The learning environment is not bad, the library offers a decent selection of books and resources. In conclusion, the school is really quite nice, it has great facilities but could be more well managed.

The kids here are racist and outstandingly rude. The teachers aren’t any better. Idgaf if you live near the area. Go someplace else. 0/5 stars.
