McNie's Fish & Chips
I had the grilled halibut and chips, and my husband had the cod and chips. Both meals were delicious. I love their fries! The fish was cooked perfectly and I love the seasoning. The waitress/staff is so kind and amazing. I used to go there all the time as a kid, so it was great to bring my husband over to check out my favourite childhood restaurant! **Ps. Order some “Dad’s root beer!” It’s the best!

Amazing! This is exactly what you expect and want when getting fish and chips. The fish is always fresh, the batter is perfectly crisp, it's light and does not taste like oil. It's honestly the only time I didn't feel the need to eat tartar sauce because the fish is just perfect. The chip and coleslaw portions are huge, ask for half, one or the other or take some home. It's our Sunday lunch every few months and there's no need to try other places.

We went on Victoria Day for lunch. Thanks Gerrie for the awesome friendly service and delicious fish n chips. Halibut is indeed king, tender fish wrapped in thin crisp batter. Fries with gravy. Creamy coleslaw. Ceasar salad was great except for bacon bits which can be better. We'll be back..

We have five kids, so any time we go out, it's always a big order.. Our server was incredibly kind and helpful and didn't miss a thing.The fish was amazing, and the beets were fantastic. Were we not simply visiting Canada, I would absolutely eat here again!

Delicious but a little too much batter on the fish/seafood. The scallops appetizer should have given us a clue that the battery was going to be excessive.Don't get me wrong, the scallops, fish, onion rings and fries were all cooked to perfection, just what I mentioned above about the batter is what was a little excessive on the carbs.Service was excellent In welcoming and warm atmosphere.Will go back to try other items on the menu the next time we are in the area.

We stopped in to have a quick fish & chips dinner. We had been there a few years before, and we'd had a good experience.This time, however, we were surprised by the high increase in their prices. Also, the batter was crispy but not much fish in between. The fries were too thick and not crispy at all. For 2 fish & chip meals, that should have been no more than $40 for both, ended up costing us $80 + tips. The waitress seemed very enthusiastic and friendly, but a times her comments were a bit insulting. She obviously wanted a good tip with her over exuberance. We traveled a bit out of our way, expecting a good dinner, but we left being very disappointed. We won't be making that mistake again.

Had calamari and caesar salad for my dinner here and I enjoyed it the food, service and atmosphere. Service was really fast and astounding. Clean, cozy, fast, good price.

Came here for the first time on Father’s Day for a bite to eat Around 4PM! The service was incredible and the waitress is super kind and attentive. The food was delicious and got to us quickly! Definitely will be back, so happy to have found a fish and chips place so good near Toronto!
