The only good chinese restaurant in Hamilton. Small place, might have to wait a bit for table because kids there don't leave after they finish eating. They just play with their phones lol.If u tipping, try use cash even if u r paying with debit. Because u know why ...

Everything was decent but nothing really jumped out as something I’d definitely order again and again. The pork noodles were kinda bland to be honest. We liked the fried rice dish that comes with all the animals. Crispy spring rolls were pretty good too.

One of the best Chinese restaurants. Good portion and great taste. Only issue is, I feel like they reduce the portion in takeout.

Great food, good prices, slow service. Rice combos are a ~$9, and can feed 2, Kongpao chicken is amazing (image). Chili chicken is also good. Chili pork rice combo is heavy on cabbage and oil but little meat, which is mostly fat. Lamb and vegetable stew is also great (image). They only take debit and cash.

Our stews (Basa+tofu and spare rib) didn't have much flavour and we had to ask for extra salt and soy sauce to make it taste like something.We got some other items like the spicy chicken and cumin lamb and those were pretty good.Server was really nice and friendly!Price has gone up (and so has every other restaurant) but remains reasonable.

Definitely coming back here! Friendly service, and pretty fast too. All the food tasted fresh, and the portions were big! Worth the price- more expensive than some other takeout places, but the quality and amount you get matched the price well. Husband got the chilli chicken, it was hot but still flavourful. I got the sweet and sour fish, which was very light and buttery, and the sauce was what you’d expect. Want to try more off the menu to find our favourites.No complaints!

I ordered from delivery app. I ordered Satay Fried Chicken Noodle and Eggplants, Pepper, and Potato. Then I got free Crispy Veggie Spring Rolls. I really like the eggplant and potato. It's not spicy but the eggplants are tender. The Satay fried chicken noodle is also good, not too spicy and the chicken is soft. Both of them have the good porsion. The spring rolls are crispy and crunchy. But for the taste I think it can be better. But I don't complaint since it's free.

Does Mr Gao offer Hamilton’s most authentic Chinese cuisine?From what I’ve heard, Mr. Gao offers some of the best authentic Chinese cuisine that that this city has to offer. I’ve been coming here for a few years now and in my opinion the food is outstanding! I recommend getting a rice combo if you are having an individual meal. If you like spicy go for the kung pao chicken and if you don’t like spicy then go for the beef with black bean sauce. The eggplant, pepper, and potatoe stir fry is also outrageously good (#410). If you’re looking for quick, cheap, authentic Chinese food served in an informal setting, then this is the place for you. By no means is this a lavish restaurant. In fact, it almost has a cafeteria/fast-food restaurant feel on the inside. In addition, the service is hit or miss. I’ve experienced excellent service and I’ve also experienced some of the worst customer service imaginable. Overall, the atmosphere and the customer service limit Mr. Gao from being a 5-Star restaurant, as the food has yet to let me down.Recommendations:• New tables, chairs, and glassware would go a long way to improving the environment• Improve on customer service

Ma Po tofu was really tasty! Definitely recommend getting this dish here. The other two dishes were decent. Could have used more flavour because they were both more on the bland side. Service was very slow as how there were only 2 other tables when we were there. It took them a really long time to get our food out.
