Terrible customer service. Called Thursday to have our oil tank filled as it was running low. Was told truck will be here Friday. Waited all day , NO SHOW. Called early evening and again was reassured delivery. NO DELIVERY! I emailed and called the following day. The first call to dispatch said a delivery was on its way…. This was Saturday morning. 2nd call was made later in the day and we were told to call back when tank is EMPTY… and they will send a truck asap…..I advised them by that evening we will have no oil left and send a truck now, we’ve been waiting since Thursday….NO ONE SHOWED UP SATURDAY….It is now 12:30 am MONDAY……we called as TANK IS EMPTY….dispatcher says he will pass on the call and we have to wait for a call back…. It’s 1:30 am …..no call as yet . TANK IS EMPTY. We’ve been dealing with Joseph Elie for over 30 years…..very dissatisfied….the stress that they have put us through.

I was with this company some years back. I found something strange about the amount of oil being delivered vs. the amount of oil in my oil tank. Not long after I saw a news report on the evening news that Joseph Elie's oil delivery trunks had been rigged and a percentage of the heating oil was returned to the truck after passing the counter. At the end of the report, they gave the phone number of a class action lawsuit. I contacted the law firm and joined the C.A.L. I consulted the list of serial numbers of the counters on their trucks, compared it to my oil bills and sure enough, I had received oil deliveries from those trucks. Anyway, to make a long story short. Joseph Elie was found guilty of stealing oil from their customers and soon after I received a cheque for over $250 for the approx. 6% that I paid for oil and never received. I would never recommend this oil company to anyone and will never deal with them again.

During the work a month ago, they perforated a ventilation duct but have not yet sent a repair man and it's -21 degrees at night with no heating in the living room. My big issue though is customer service, never have I seen such appalling C-S, I spent at least 1 hour waiting on 4 different occasions to speak with someone with no luck. I even left my number on 2 of these calls with no returns; worst, worst, worst customer service I've ever seen!

It happens several times. I put an order, but no oil' s delivered. Then I called them again, I was told that there is no order put at all. I asked if there is a confirmation number. The answer is no. Thus, there is no proof that customer made the order. Never expect delivery is on time.

Like many people who complained, I had difficulty reaching the company and getting an oil delivery this past winter. However, recently, i had a problem with the oil tank leaking. I was not able to reach them on the weekend (bad mark) but this morning I had an immediate answer to my call and a technician was sent immediately to remedy the problem. Said technician was very professional, explained the situation, made sure everything was ok before he left. so Kudos!

I have never had such a hard time trying to give someone money. Tried calling them several times this week to pay my bill, but the wait time is massive, the call back feature doesn't work since despite calling 4 days ago, I still haven't been called back. Tried calling first thing this morning, was First in the queue for over a half hour and no one is picking up. The website doesn't have anyway to pay, at this point I don't know what to say. I'm not taking a day off work so I can stay on hold until they feel like doing their job. If they want their money they can do their collections themselves.

So I saw some of the reviews, had my own experience, and will share it. The 1st day I called 4 times and waited a 6.5hrs before I left empty handed. That was a 1. BUT, the woman and man that served me were always polite despite me losing my patience inside. They went out of their way to help for the next day, which is a 6/5. The next day, the oil came early enough and the technician soon after. They were even family(father & son) between the 2 which says to me they're loyal servants to Joseph Elie & Confort Expert. The dad works 7/7, don't know how he does it. They were honest, nice, very helpful. Both were a 5 and 5. So 1+6+5+5=17/20 is 85 or 4.25. And this is in context of the war and supply shortages. So on a good day, they could maybe do better. I hope to keep the same faith my dad had with them decades ago, and they don't let us down.

Would give less than 1 star if I could... Been a customer for over a dozen years, didn't run into much problems up until now. Been trying to call them for a delivery of heating oil for close to a week (end of January 2022). During that time, I also filled out the order form online, contacted both by email and fax without response. Finally got through on Thursday last week, guy on phone said someone should be calling me to confirm within a couple days. Got in touch with them again this morning (Monday), they told me they can't deliver any time soon, maybe later in the month, They suggested I find another company, or in case of emergency, take a gerry can to gas station to get diesel! As if my 10 lt can will do anything in an empty 800 lt oil tank... Luckily, I was able to find another company, hoping they deliver before I run out. Going to cost significantly more, but don't have much of a choice at this point.
