I found this place because I dropped my car off down the street to get some work done. I was headed to Tim Hortons but I really wanted somewhere I could sit down and get a drink and some real food, I couldn't have stumbled into a better place!! The decor is amazing, I got kind of a beachy surfer dive-y vibe and I love it. Super unique for a place in Calgary!To drink I ordered the Bourbon tea cocktail and it was delicious. I got the second one in a taller glass because the first one was a little strong for me, but it was reeeeally good!For food I got the BBQ bun with brisket and I must say, I was intimidated by the ingredients on the bun! (Onion rings, pickles, Cole slaw, and brisket on a bun together?! Idk....) I am not very adventurous with food, but I am super glad I tried it because omg it was amazing! I actually got a fork and ate the stuff that fell out of the bun. I highly recommend it!!I had the opportunity to meet the owner and her wife, and I must say they are amazing. They provided me with incredible service and I didn't even know they were the owner and wife until I had a one on one chat with the owner after my meal. They are great ladies, not only will I tell everyone about this place but I'll definitely be back! Try this place out, you won't regret it.Thank-you for the wonderful food and experience!

Great service and food from Rob and Karl! This place appeared on the Food Network with good reason. Having eaten BBQ in many countries, this restaurant’s style emphasizes flavour over moistness. I had the brisket sandwich ($17) that comes with a lovely dipping jus.Free parking, easy to use touch screens to order, and then you get to eat your food in a relaxed and fun environment. Easy to get to off Blackfoot near Glenmore and AB-2.

Enjoyed a great lunch here. The platter was delicious and I got to try a few of their popular items. Everything was clean with plenty of comfortable seating available for dine-in and I also like the self ordering system as well; the experience was enhanced with the super friendly and approachable staff helping along the way. Finding good BBQ in Canada is rare and this is one of the ones offering good clean flavours. Coconut corn bread was delicious. Only 2 sauce choices for now; the spicy one could have used more heat but were pleasant and mild for lunch.

Went here on May 5th, and had the platter which serves 1 to 2 people.As far as portion size, it might work well for two small appetites. For one large appetite it was great, I'd say 4/5 of the portion would have sufficed my large appetite. So there was a bit extra.The food itself was delicious, the briskly was perfect.The overall atmosphere is nice, the staff were friendly! Will definitely come back.

The food is good enough, not cheap but that might be inflation these days. Chairs are okay but they seem to be hand built so watch for nails poking up and tearing your pants. The situation with the lack of sauces was odd, not many choices, and they are in a pump that is self serve with a tiny cup that forms a line really quick. Other reviewers said they were at the table but not one sauce on any table that we saw. Basically get your sauce before you get your meal. It’s an interesting place but not as good as Hayden block for example. The dining style is a little more “fast food” than true sit down dinner. It’s also a little slow for this style of dinning even with modest number of people in line. The corn bread is coconut corn bread BTW. Rated a 4 as 3 is too low, it is an honest 3.5.

Dozens of promising BBQ joints have popped up in Calgary over the years, each carrying with it a glimmer of hope that we’d finally get authentic southern BBQ. One after another, each new restaurant failed to deliver on the flavours we’d come to expect from our travels in the South, and I had finally given up hope that anyone could pull off great BBQ flavours in the Great White North.When a friend suggested we try Jane Bond for lunch, I had to temper my expectations. Would it be good BBQ, or just ‘good for Calgary’?We entered during a busy lunch rush, made busier and more hectic in that they were short staffed, and it was all hands on deck rushing to fill orders as fast as they were coming in. Incredible smells hit us immediately in the entryway, and the decor was sprinkled with artifacts from the southern states. Jane Bond was already off to a good start and we hadn’t even ordered yet.While waiting patiently for our festive smoked turkey po’ boys, it was clear that the other diners were thoroughly enjoying their food, and I started to feel a glimmer of hope that we might be in for a treat with our lunch.The food finally arrived and was served enthusiastically by the owner, whose joy for cooking became clear the moment we saw the food.Beautiful double-deep-fried sweet potato fries were served with a surprisingly spicy chipotle mayo, alongside a gorgeously creamy mac and cheese. The star of the show, a mouthwatering festive turkey dinner po’ boy, was the perfect balance of sweet, salty, and savoury.This was the kind of sandwich where every bite is a little different, and perhaps a little better, than the last. It’s the kind of sandwich that becomes and exploration of flavours, like a thrilling journey you wish had no end. It’s the kind of sandwich you’ll go back for again and again.Reasonably priced, excellent flavours, welcoming atmosphere, and owners who clearly love what they do - Jane Bond is a sensational combination so rare in Calgary that this gem of a restaurant needs to be protected and visited often.It wasn’t until we were driving away that we realized that we had forgotten to order a pecan pie to go. Visited this place for my husband's birthday lunch and it was such a good choice. We tried the meat platter which has brisket, pulled pork, bbq chicken, back ribs, cornbread and 2 sides that you can select.My absolute favorite were the pork ribs, definitely coming back for that.I was a little disappointed with the pulled pork though, I thought it was dry and lacked flavour. And I would have preferred if they had served 2 pieces of corn on the cob instead of 1.But 5 stars because of the lovely ambience and the great service and the owners replies to the reviews just shows how focused they are on quality and service.

let me start off by saying this review has nothing to do with the staff, they were very pleasant to deal with. that's the only reason for 3 stars.The feel of the restaurant a mixture of school cafeteria and an American family reunion.I really wanted to like this place, so so much.Ordered the the bond platter so as to get a bit of everything. Coconut corn bread was good. I would order that again.Chicken was probably the best meat on the platter, flavourful and not dried out, Sausages were good, but I am sure they are sourced by the restaurant. the rest of the platter gets a thumbs down. All the meats on this platter lacked everything that is BBQ. Only the BBQ sauces saved these meats. Everything was bland and had no flavour. It was almost suspect of being cooked in heat trays after a quick smoke (didn't get any of the flavour) . Brisket was not tender or flavourful had a smoke ring but did not taste at all like they were smoked. pork belly was blah , (leave it off the menu). Ribs were very dry as if to be sitting out all night. Corn was good, has a bit of a kick which I liked. we opted for the beans and then the slaw, both these go for quantity over quality.Over all for what they charge for the food it is not the quality BBQ you should expect. You get a lot of average fast food quality product you can feed to a party table, but for what this meal cost us we were disappointed.update to response.Don't worry we will give you another chance. but we wont notify you of when we come in. this allows an unbiased purchase, and we aren't looking for special treatment because of a review(or free food) . all we want is fair value for the dollar and this should be every time someone orders a meal that they pay for. as for an inhouse notification when we are there, the meal didn't need to be sent back because it was awful, We just left feeling like it should have been better.
