Mike is my go-to automotive guy in Woodstock! I've had poor experiences with auto repair in the past and have been very taken advantage of due to my lack of car knowledge.Mike went out of his way to fit me in last minute when I was new to town and experiencing some worrying car troubles. He identified the issues quickly (all problems due to work done by a previous mechanic) and helped me understand what was going on so I could get the previous mechanic to correct his work.Mike is a straight-shooter, extremely kind, and deeply trustworthy. Mike saved our family vacation! On the road from Chicago to Niagara we heard a grinding sound from the wheel. Googled the nearest shop off the highway and pulled in just before closing time. After a quick diagnosis of a broken caliper bolt, skillful repair and thoughtful advice for follow up, we were back on the road in 30 minutes. Wish we had Mike's Automotive Services back home!

We brought in our 2007 Grand Prix for an oil leak the end of October 2017. As recommended by Mike, we replaced the gaskets (manifold and crank seal) - $1400 worth of work. The work was completed in early November. In the next week or so we still had an oil leak and informed Mike. We brought it back into Mike and he installed a new crank seal sleeve to try and solve the problem. We give credit to him that he installed that free of charge. However, over the next week or two we still had an oil and had low oil pressure sensor warnings. We informed Mike and he was unsure what could be done but if we wanted he could have another look. However, if it was unrelated to his work there would be a fee. We were losing confidence at that point and we took the car to another shop and it was determined that the main bearings on the crankshaft were worn. The crank is moving back and forth causing the crank seal to leak. Due to this the engine either needed to be rebuilt or a used engine installed. It is quite frustrating that you take your car someone to solve a problem and although Mike didn't cause the issue with the engine we spend a lot unneeded money on an engine that needed to be replaced in the first place. We ended up having to sell our car as is because we couldn't afford to pay for a new engine or rebuild having spend so much money on the car already. We are not happy with the situation.
