Tri-City Taekwondo

We are very lost after the passing of Master Phan. And sad that the new owner vision is now aligning with anything that Master Phan work so hard and put his heart and soul in. We as many other families are leaving due to lack of respect for our beloved Master Phan! Good luck to the new owner he have huge shoes to fill.

I randomly walked into this place and nervously enquired about adult classes. Master Phan was a major reason behind me signing up for the classes and Master Hur for the 10 months I spent here.I'd highly recommend this place to everyone! Master Hur is incredibly talented and a fantastic instructor, I feel lucky to have trained under him. The entire atmosphere of the class was warm and encouraging. I remember feeling self-conscious doing - absolutely anything - kicks, warm up drills, kihap, but every time I made eye contact with any of the senior belts they were incredibly motivating and cheering me (or any newcomer) on. The entire staff is dedicated to the sport and have so much positive energy to offer.I will miss this place and only hope that Tri-City and it's instructors grow to be the best versions of themselves.

Master Phan and the whole Tri-city TKD team showed our daughter an incredible amount of support and encouragement during her time at this school. The level of confidence she gained from her experience with Tri-City is incredible. Had it not been for a move out of province, our daughter would have continued her martial arts journey there but thanks to TKD, the fire has been lit within her and she is continuing on that journey in our new city.

Im currently in my 30’s and I have been wanting to learn taekwondo for a really long time, but because of my condition, chronic fatigue syndrome, I was unable to do so but I finally decided to go for it and called a lot of schools. Some of the schools didn't have adult lessons, some of school times didn’t work for me and some of them straight up, told me that they cannot help me and that they're not the right school because of my condition. When I called Tricity Taekwondo I spoke to Master Phan, he had no idea what chronic fatigue syndrome is, but he asked me a lot of questions to learn about condition. He asked me what my condition is all about, How can they help me learn and stuff, he asked me about exertion and I explained pacing to him. It became clear to me that Tricity Taekwondo is not just about making money, but they truly want people to learn while learning about their students and the same values reflect in every instructor that works here. Master Hur is an awesome awesome instructor. I cannot say enough good things about him. He encourages me so much and understands when my energy is low and he has really helped me grow. I just earned my yellow stripe belt and hopefully I can keep learning as long as my body allows me to.I cannot thank Master Phan enough for allowing me to learn Taekwondo at his school.Edit : My review above was for Master Phan who has passed away. The current ownership/management deserves a one star.

After delaying over a year due to the covid-19 pandemic, my son started taking lessons last month. He really enjoys going to Taekwondo and wants to work hard. The staff are friendly and you can feel that the Master really cares about the children.

My son has been training here since this summer. It was the first time Taekwondo but he loved to learn with Master Phan. There was the trial day so we did and decided to take a course right away. That was so well organized.I highly recommend here!

One of the best investments parents can make. Master Phan and his great team have made a very healthy and positive culture to develop kids physically and mentally.

Thank-you for the smooth transition after the passing of our dear friend and Master, Huy. My brother has learned so much from the studio and is thankful that it will not be closed down. :) I appreciate you for staying strong and continuing Master Huy’s legacy !

I am absolutely happy that I chose Master Phan's Tri-City Taekwondo for my 5-year-old son's after school activity! All instructors are so professional, helpful, supportive, and considerate to each student. My son LOVES going there twice a week. I would say that my son has been improving focus and control over his strong emotional reaction such as anger. Would recommend this wonderful dojang to any parents and children!
