Monk Office

I walked in earlier today to see some Herman Miller chairs and was directed to see Jessica. For some reasons, she was not happily assisting me - hands in pockets, unwilling to freely offer info about the products, and an attitude as if I would not be able to afford these chairs. I have never seen a salesperson like this in any other stores. Very negative experience today.

Outstanding service. I use this Monk Office location for our business account (for about 3 years) and now most certainly for anything personal. Doesn't matter whether I come in, call in or email questions/requests I am always met with an immediate helpful answer. Greg is particularly welcoming, remembers (or at least successfully pretends too!) who you are and what kind of resources you need. He is always so polite and accommodative, truly excels in customer service! Thanks everyone at Oak Street Monk Office!!

Re:Oak st location- The lady at checkout had the work ethic of a snail and to top it off was rude to my small child. Bought a couple items but because they were out of stock I found the rest of our school supplies at STAPLES. Our family will remain staples-customers because of the good selection and friendly staff. DO NOT recommend Monks AT ALL.

I wasn't impressed with this place. We ordered new office furniture from them and it was nearly impossible to get a quote from them in the first place - they kept telling me they have lots of bigger clients that are more important and they need to take care of them first. That should have been the first red flag to find another vendor!I told them what I wanted and got a quote for something different. I asked again for what I wanted and came in the showroom to view it and was satisfied. The sales person sold us a way more basic version of the chair without a number of the key features we were looking for. When I asked him about this he simply said There is nothing else I can do for you" and stopped communicating. I phoned in to ask for a manager and was told one would call me and that still hasn't happened. It is quite clear once the cheque clears this place doesn't care!"

We have been shopping here for our business for over 10 years now and have always had great service. The selection is top notch as they always seem to have what we need. Also, we regularly use the copy shop at the back for all the same reasons.

Favorite office store in Victoria. Awesome fun staff that are very helpful. Always find what I need and I love supporting local. No more staples trips! Plus monk member discounts! Can't beat it.

The service at the store is fantastic. The cylinder on my office chair broke, which I had purchased at Staples. Staples offered me zero help. On the other hand, Monks ordered the broken part, and arranged for it to be installed. I highly recommend this store!

So helpful! I needed a no cover text book to be bonded because it was an awkward size! Costed 8$ and the person helping me was awesome and took what I needed and made me a beautiful make shift cover so I would t ruin the pages.

Some of the services are a bit pricey and they are suffering from some supply chain issues but otherwise they are alright. Prices could be a bit more competitive as well.

Outstanding customer service - thank you David! We probably exchanged about a dozen emails while he helped me find the Cadillac of office chairs, the Aeron by Herman Millar. I couldn't find them anywhere in BC with the exception of Monk's and David arranged to have the chair sent from their warehouse to the Oak St location until my friend could pick it up for me and bring it to Vancouver, also saving me $250 in Courier charges. David and Monk's exceeded my expectations :-) and the chair is fabulous!
