My favorite restaurant on UBC campus. The owner is so nice. Tasty food with reasonable price.

The waiters were busy but they seemed very distracted. Cheap & large lunch combos!

I had a coupon through another app for Meet Night, so I decided to try it out! Unfortunately, I was rather disappointed with the food.I ordered the Aburi Set, which is only available from 11am-4pm. It comes with 3 aburi sushi (salmon, tuna + shrimp), salmon teriyaki on rice, shrimp tempura ×2, spring roll ×2, vegetable tempura ×3 (I think), salad, and miso soup. A breakdown of taste is as follows:Aburi sushi: my expectations were highest for this, which is perhaps why I felt so let down. The salmon aburi was okay, but both the tuna and shrimp aburi were overcooked and dry. None of the aburi tasted like they were melting in your mouth"

Incredibly designed and decorated place!! From the lanterns, to the utensils, to even the covered sofa seating places — absolutely magical! Food was good as well and friendly servers. Wonderful experience!

We came to try this restaurant after a while I saw it from the social media app promoted. However, it was a bad Japanese Izakaya in Vancouver area. Two stars only for the good services for all staff. All staff were so extremely friendly and ebullient. The food was so expensive among the Izakaya and tasted not well. All the foods were so salty. We ordered chicken skins and it came out but it was so salty…. The udon was so salty too. The miso soups were salty, too. Also, I did not recommend to order the grilled squid because it was hard to chew and it was tasteless. The beers are recommended to order.Even one of the staff had compensated some treats for us but I don’t think I will come back again…..

Overall, it was an okay experience.Pros:Corn Karaage is my favourite and the Sashimi is really freshAburi sushi is good (probably better with less sauce)Tempura batter is great but it’s a bit under seasoned considering there is no dipping sauceExcellent service A++Cons:Not impressed with skewersPrice is slightly over average, and considering it’s all the way in UBC I will probably not go again

Food tastes 7/10Price is the most expensive I’ve seen of an Japanese restaurant in Vancouver.Came to eat Sunday evening, there were only 4 tables with people. Approx $8 for one piece of tuna nigiri is absolutely robbery. If it’s an extremely high end restaurant with superb service and interior design located in downtown Manhattan, I could potentially see a reason for business people to go.This should not exist in a university campus.

They charge you 5 dollars more for the lunch menu on ramens compared to dinner menu, because you have a very small portioned salad, a dry fish snack and a few bites of watermelon. Flavour below average, fair service, portion below average. And the California roll is worse than a cheap pack you purchase at a random ubc mart, the rice is too hard. Overall, very bad experience.
