Oak Island Resort & Conference Centre

Stayed in a chalet for friend’s wedding. Clean rooms and bed. Beautiful water view. Food and service was great.

Staff was friendly and courteous. We were here early in the season and there was a not a lot of the amenities available. The outdoor pool was closed, hottub didnt work, bikes were locked away with the marine equipment, and there was mini putt but was not sure how to access it. The bar and restaurant will close early if there are not people there. Small things but makes it hard to enjoy a resort experience when what makes it a resort is not available.

We had our wedding at Oak Island Resort and it was absolutely wonderful! The venue coordinator, Mary, worked so hard to make sure that our day went smoothly. She was so amazing to work with! The staff are extremely helpful and friendly, the location is stunning, and all our guests raved about how nice their rooms were. I would highly recommend Oak Island to anyone planning a wedding or just looking for a getaway!

4 room chalet was spacious and comfortable. Staff were very helpful. Restaurant was very very slow and several of the food options were grossly overpriced. $15 for 1 small piece of calamari and $25 for a lobster roll that was more onions than lobster, and I like onions.Sister #1 books chalet, gives all names of guests.Sister #4 checks in first, gives names of all guests again, front desk has names all screwed up but charges #4 with 1/4 of fee, correct.After checkout they charge Sister #4 with the other 3 bills and charge Sister #2 with hers, very wrong.Sister #1 goes to checkout, pays for hers then it's refunded cause it was all charged to #4.#4 calls to straighten it out, gets worse.#4 wants #2 refunded causes now they hotel has $400 extra, they put #2 refund on #1 card.Front desk is too busy to deal with this now"

Loved location, resort rooms clean and comfortable. Queen beds not a standard and too small for two people. Outdoor hot tub nice but very dirty, pool well kept. Staff friendly and accommodating. Food fair and needs to be improved especially seafood options.

Despite the rainy weather, we had a nice time. The restaurant service was very slow and the food did not meet our expectations. We were part of a large group, and the front desk staff messed up the payments for the rooms. After a few calls upon my return, I got the balance owing corrected.

Great spot for a family vacation but like everyone else the restaurant is terrible. Plan ahead, bring food or find somewhere nearby to go eat. It will be faster, better and more affordable. It’s the only downside to this place.Kitchen is Very very slow. 1.5 hour for dinner and 45min for breakfast. And overpriced. Think 3.50 for 2oz of milk for a baby overpriced. Oysters came out full of shells. Breakfast came out cold. Bacon (from kids meal) came out so crispy it was more like overdone bacon bits. I did not feed this to my daughter. My husband crumbled it in his hands.

Lovely staff, extremely attentive and helpful. Room was clean and well stocked. Decor and little details throughout the hotel added so many cute and personal touches. The free wifi was capable enough in regards to speed, far from the worst I’ve had, and the coverage was great.

We had terrible weather, it rained the entire time. But our accomodations and the staff's unobtrusive service meant we still had a fine time. Comfortable beds, clean kitchen and bathroom in our chalet. We'll return to experience the area with better weather.The restaurant was the only slightly negative part of our stay. Mediocre quality on what is a good looking menu.

Beautiful views and a good distance for aweekend getaway from Halifax. The service was great with most staff.The food was not great and it's a very limited menu and the value is not there. Options for a salad would be great.
