Shauna is kind and caring. She has been the only person able to help my daughter learn due to her gentle nature.

I met Shauna by chance one day, and that day changed my life forever. I knew immediately that if anyone could work with my son on his literacy skills, it was her. He had always struggled with reading and writing & had just received his official dyslexia diagnosis the day before. He was 13 at the time and I had been dreading suggesting yet another literacy intervention program to him. Teachers, knowing how intelligent he was, often showed him their frustration with his lack of academic outcome and over the years he had ‘given up’ and developed ‘class clown’ type coping skills at school. I knew for this intervention to work for him, at this time in his life, that Shauna would need to build a solid relationship with him...to build that trust he had so desired from the teachers in his life. She took that task head on and really dove deep with him, providing him with the right tools and proving to him that the impossible was possible. They built quite a strong bond, he looked forward to their session's whether they were in person or online, he built his toolbox with her program teachings and progressed beyond our wildest dreams in both reading, and most importantly, confidence. She further supported us through his transition into a specialty school with smaller class sizes, in which he has carried the tools Shauna gave him. In fact, just last week, for the first time in his life he came to me excited wanting me to read the story he had written in Language Arts. It was amazing, and 5 paragraphs long! FIVE!!! I cried. Shauna meets children where they need to be met, has their backs when they feel no one else does, builds trust that in turn builds confidence, supplies lifelong literacy tools & strategies, and instills a hope that others never could. She changed to trajectory of our son's life. He now talks about post-secondary and has big plans. Something I never imagined.… the future is bright. ⭐️

Shauna went above and beyond to work with my son, who started with her when he was in 5th grade. She immediately built a strong relationship with him, learning his sense of humor and ready to help lighten his mood with a joke or two. My son knows Shauna has his back and I appreciate that she advocates for him and understands the school system and helps him receive appropriate accommodations in school. Shauna is a skilled educator and is able to effectively teach my son without him even noticing he is learning. Thank you for helping my son to believe in himself again.

I can't recommend Literacy for Life enough. My daughter was significantly delayed in learning to read. Within one year of working with Shauna, she was reading at or above grade level and her IPP was no longer necessary. More importantly, her confidence in her abilities has skyrocketed. She is now excelling in all of her classes. We are both so grateful to Shauna. The support she provided is nothing less than life changing.
