Calgary Foothills Soccer Club

I was very disappointed in the grassroots program. The coaches are young soccer players that have little to no guidance on how to work with this age group. They did not engage the children, played the same games over and over and were often standing around just looking at their phones. It never appeared that they had a plan of what to do or how to progress skills. I emailed the manager several times and it took several emails and phone calls to even get a response. I never saw any experienced coaches come out to help guide these young coaches and there were very minimal improvements over the season. One-hour sessions are much too long for the U4 age group, especially with coaches that are just winging it week after week with no organized plan. Poor management and no effort to improve program.I would not put my child in this program again.

About 4 years ago, as our kids transitioned out of community Tim Bits we were in search for a club that would be able to satisfy all of our soccer needs. We needed something very competitive for our son, we needed a quality girls program for our daughters and we needed a great foundations program for our youngest. Foothills was our choice and we have never looked back or questioned our decision. From the quality coaches, programs and phase leads to the amazing kids and families. Our kids are jacked to go to soccer EVERY NIGHT. It's a 40 min drive to the facility or outdoor fields but we don't care. The programming and their current teams, coaches and teammates make it worth the drive.There are many options throughout Calgary. All have their pros and cons. We wanted a long term relationship with our club of choice. We didn't want to move around. Foothills has given us every platform from grassroots to professional pathways.

The field is great, the viewing area is the worst in the city. The stands should be built out another 4-6 feet.

Fields themselves are great. Find it to be very hot and stuffy inside with poor ventilation. The changeover from game to game or session to session isn't the best. Bottlenecks at the entrance and not enough room for players to get ready. Overall good if you're a player, not so great if you're a spectator.

This club needs to do better.Unorganized, not responding to emails, not being present, and not providing coaches.They tier their players and then put them to play against each other in the tournament where the little ones are just getting destroyed and so discouraged. It's like they are using the little ones for target practice; with scores like 20-0 it's demoralizing.

The people managing this club are clueless. They are going against the rules of the league diving the kids under 9 into tiers based on skill. When the team parents have attempted to reach out to obtain an explanation they have failed to provide any answers or even respond to any emails. The teams are not provided with coaches like other clubs like SWU. I will not be bringing my son back next year.

I am consistently impressed with the level of dedication and attention to detail put into the training programs! The video analysis and sports science programs specifically have been game-changers for the team.

We've got all 5 kids playing for Foothills, from Grassroots to U17. The programming is strong and technical, AND my kids also have fun. I can easily see from the viewing area that the coaches enjoy working with our kids and want to see them improve their individual and team skills.

My sons have been with Foothills for nearly 10 years now and the coaching staff have developed them not only as players but with skills to approach life. The facilities and opportunities are second to none in Calgary. The coaches encourage the players to look after their bodies, through sports science, mental health awareness and also analyse their play by using the video analysis facilities available. An all-round good experience for me and my family

Fond memories of this indoor soccer facility. Great staff running the management of this place. Keep up the good work. Added more changing rooms in the cabins outside.
