The Write Bookshop

This is a magical little place that is every book lovers dream! So many great books and more genres than you can imagine! With 2 whole floors, nooks and crannies, tiny little side rooms, this place unfolds around every corner into another surprise. Do not miss this place!

For the quantity of books packed into this place, the organization scheme is pretty good. It's overwhelming at first, but after working one's way through the building the order becomes apparent (I strongly recommend taking a spin through the whole place before buckling down to a closer look at specific sections). Even then, if you're not seeing what you're looking for, ask the proprietor as he knows this store like the back of his hand. Asking about a particularly obscure volume, he knew it immediately and where in the store to find it. Great selection of mass markets, paperbacks, and hardcovers; vintage publishings through more recent ones; and various topics and genres as ever were printed.We're from out of town, but will certainly be back if just for this bookshop.

Best store of any kind in the city. Kind, hospitable owners. Bastion of knowledge and wonder.

Good collection of various books. Many different subjects and authors. Very disorganized, be ready to spend an hour in here whenever you go. I would enjoy if they expanded their philosophy and economic collections but that's just my niche. Overall I go here often and spend lots, great place.

What a pearl! The staff and owner are very courteous.there is a very large selection of titles and prices are unbeatable. The atmosphere is exactly what one would like in a used book store with character. I was happy to see that it was busy with customers today. I will be a regular for sure.

I had occasion to visit The Write Bookshop recently and what an experience. I gave the proprietor what I thought might be a bit of a challenge (finding books on Pitman Shorthand). He took me right to the spot where they were and I was able to find a book as well as the Key to go with it. I will definitely return when we once again visit St. Catharines.

Always lovely service and a sweet bookshop. I've gone a few times now - always make sure to stop by when I'm in the area - and never leave empty handed. Fairly priced and a large selection of books + sections. Upstairs is a little wonky at the moment because of what seems to be water damage from the old roof, but the gentleman upfront helped me around to find what i needed :). Both of the men Ive talked to while there were very lovely and helpful !

Such a cool bookstore! It just keeps going and going, it’s almost hard to believe. The prices are also an absolute bargain.The person working there was also really friendly, and helpful if you were looking for something in particular.

Came in right as they were closing, but this amazing couple let me stick around and find what I came in for, anyway (even though I came to find out they had a dinner date). Not only that, but provided some awesome conversation and the husband went in the back to track down some additional books I was looking for. 1000s of used books upstairs and down running the whole gambit of genre and topics. Saw some comics and DVDs, too. Definitely recommend.
