A BEAUTIFUL campground, very well maintained and very clean! Prem Kumar, the assistant manager, was very friendly, kind and very helpful. Thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night stay. Scenery was incredible and the train added so much to our enjoyment

Great campground by the river and close to town. The only issue is the train on the other side of river. We were there during weekend so the train are not going as often as during the week.

Golden is in a World of its own. Interesting shops with unique clothes. Love to rent a bicycle ride everywhere and if course Bacchus books and Cafe a sure stop. Amazing food service and a place to study or write. Train whistles remind me of peticote junction. Golden is my favorite mountain retreat. I drove the radium route as Hwy 1 still working out the construction kinks. Found two amazing waterfall stops.

Amazing campground! Beautiful river with its small beach, beautiful mountains around. The assistant manager in the office is very kind, helpful and professional. He gladly help with everything and I miss not anything in the camp. The campsite is clean. The city is picturesque. I would love to come back anytime.

Last night the trains shunted, screeched, banged, clanged, and ran by between 9:30PM and 5:15AM. At first, the sound came every 90 mins or so, but between midnight and 5:00AM the calamity came every 40 minutes. Just in time to doze off from the last cacophony then to be awoken again. I actually lay awake in my tent reading Google reviews on this place; as well as constructing one of my own (not published) and noticed that the owner will often deflect train noise complaints by pointing out that the website is clear in saying it’s a good place for “train spotting” as if that is a sufficient enough warning for what I, and every other person camping, endured last night. She also suggests ear plugs and a “white noise machine.” There is a perfect and natural white noise that comes off of the river; however, it doesn’t stand a chance against what goes on on the tracks beside it and neither would a noise machine. Ear plugs, maybe, but I doubt it.It sounds like “some nights are worse than others” but if you don’t like gambling with your quality of sleep, especially if you are passing through and driving for hours the next day - then I honestly wouldn’t take a chance on this place; it’s not worth it. Everything lovely about the area is obliterated the moment you spend a night at the mercy of whatever is going on right across the river. Do not ignore the 1-star reviews and don’t come thinking a white noise machine will drown out the trains. My 6-year-old and I tented at site 38 which was a nice site, slightly shaded, and with a raised tent platform. Note that the ground is rocky and hard and tent pegs do not go in easily. Definitely lay down ground cover if you’re tenting. The mosquitoes are absolutely intense. You will get eaten alive without suitable protection and/or spray. The tiny beach is not for small children, even good swimmers, there is a drop and it’s not marked and the river runs fast. We sat on the rocks and soaked our legs. It’s a beautiful view, though.Golden is a cute town, camping would have been beautiful there - but placing a campground directly across from a very busy railway hub is bananas. As well, the booking page should have a very clear warning about the trains - not a blurb at the very bottom that says there’s train spotting - so that people can make informed decisions before they book. It would probably reduce the amount of 1, 2-star reviews, too. I, personally, won’t book here again and can’t recommend it.

The site itself is very good. I love the kiosk at the office, having the digital store on there is a great idea! The location by the river is really good and you aren't far walking to town. The downside has to be the rail track across the river. I know this is no fault of the campsite, but please be aware that the trains don't just pass by, they also shunt in the area, so a good bit of movement! Luckily the trains don't use horns much but are loud none the less.Again, this is no fault of the campsite, just want to make other campers aware of this.We would happily go back though!

We had a site by the river. This has a nice trail to town and campground is clean. Never used showers so can't comment. WiFi is useless unless right at the store. We stayed one night as had a lot of ground to cover. We were coming back through Golden 2 to 3 weeks later and made sure we had a different campground to stay in as great for train spotting" is the wrong term to use for the amount of noise throughout the night you have to put up with. The description should state there is a lot of noise at night. Great views of river though."

The campground is fairly clean, good proximity to the town with a nice trail to get you there, and nice to be right on the river. It is also right across from _very busy_ train tracks that are loud at all hours. If you want a good sleep this is not the campground for you. otherwise things are fine.

Excellent campground! Clean and well maintained. The campground has an electronic kiosk for checking in/out etc. it worked awesome! The washrooms/showers and laundry room were very clean and updated. We enjoyed the mountain bike trails near by which were also well maintained. We stayed here for one night on our way home from a Western Canada road trip but we liked it so much we are planning on coming back!

We tented for 4 nights and loved every minute of it. We took other reviews of the trains into consideration and used silicon earplugs and had no issues. We'd stay again for sure.
