As a volunteer with Kitty Cat Prevent a Litter Society, and a companion to an elderly lady who ADORES her cats, I am so happy to know that Comox Valley Funeral Home thinks of the animals! Working alongside them to ensure beloved cats will have a future in a time of sadness and disruption warms my heart. I would recommend their services to any family (easpecially with cats) when considering post-life services.

We recently had a death in the family and received excellent services from this business. Caz Matute handled our case in a sensitive and friendly manner. There was no pressure in any way.

Huge commendation to Caz who helped with the planning of my mom's funeral. He was very professional and understanding. Unfortunately, I was EXTREMELY EMBARRASSED by the reception luncheon that was provided. The ham sandwiches were one slice of ham and processed cheese between two slices of old bread. The chicken salad was mostly mayonnaise. Desserts were cut into extremely small pieces like they were trying to make it look like more. We ordered an extra meat and cheese tray that was pathetic in size. When I addressed it with the owner I just got a response saying they had fired the caterer, which tells me we were not the first family to get this pathetic lunch.I recommend them for taking care of your loved one but have your reception elsewhere as it is not worth the money.

Great service BUT... Used Comox Valley Funeral Home for my mother's funeral at the beginning of April. Caz, the person we dealt with, was wonderful to deal with and very accommodating, did not try to pressure us into anything we did not want. HOWEVER, the food that was provided for the luncheon after the service which we had ordered through the funeral home was BEYOND PATHETIC, COMPLETELY TASTELESS, and left us feeling extremely embarrassed. We had even ordered extra food and it still didn't amount to much. Not worth even half of what they charged. When we emailed the owners directly to express our concern, they could not even be bothered to reach out to us directly. VERY DISAPPOINTING!

The hardest thing is to go through the loss of a family member and everyone at Comox Valley Funeral Home was nothing short of compassion, love, understanding, patience, mindful...over the top excellent service! Caz and Jes are exceptional and we are more at peace because of them! Thank you.

If you are looking to be ignored, talked over, up sold, and treated without a modicum of empathy or human decency, during an inherently sensitive and sacred time in your life, this is the place for you. I found myself genuinely disturbed and perplexed by the treatment my partner and I received on behalf of the owner, Kent. My partner and I are younger (late 20s/early 30s) which is maybe the reason we found ourselves routinely interrupted, ignored and condescended to. During a painful and challenging chapter in our lives, where a modest amount of compassion goes a long ways, we did not find it here.

Staff at Comox Valley Funeral Home were very caring, understanding and had a great deal of empathy in our time of sorrow. They made what was an extremely difficult and stressful time easier to go through with their care and compassion.

My mother had a pre-paid plan with a funeral home in Ontario, which we transferred it Comox Valley Funeral Home. They were so helpful and kind with us. I recommend them without reservation. I am so sorry to see that they received one misleading low rating just through an error, because of a family's misunderstanding about their mother's plan.

Generous caring people, both owners and staff. They are an integral part of this community, involved in supporting Courtenay/Comox in so many ways. With regard to the one star review by Ally Johnston I asked about it. The reason their prearrangements couldn't be found was because THEY WEREN'T MADE WITH THIS FUNERAL HOME! Unfortunate that people get upset and post inaccurate reviews and then don't remove them. Comox Valley Funeral Home is fantastic. They go above and beyond for their clients and for their community.

We are so thankful for the Wonderful & Caring people from Comox Valley Funeral Home. They went above & beyond, on a day that we all had to say goodbye to my sweet brother. It was a very special memory for everyone who attended. Thank you again for your kindness.
