Neville happens to be one of the worst people I have ever come across. From the moment we first contacted Sports Teams Accommodation, also known as OPM and Kelowna Reservation Centre, we had issues. When first in contact with the company about a beautiful town home, we dealt with a woman named Mary Oxtoby, who had scheduled to show us one of the two units that she had listed. On the phone, we were told to arrive and bring a damage deposit if we believed it would be a good fit for us. The Kelowna rental market is very hot and finding a property of this caliber that would allow young renters was very uncommon. Once we arrived at the property, which Mary was showing, we witnessed her shaking hands with a man after showing the unit. She then came over to us and told us that she had rented it on the spot, but still had a unit available that was $100 more every month and would not be available until 1 month later than the other unit. She reduced the rent, told us she would only give us an 11 month lease instead of a year, and had us pay a deposit on the spot. When we arrived for a walk through before moving in, the unit had yet to be cleaned, carpets were in terrible condition, and quite a bit of damage to the drywall throughout the apartment. We wrote down everything that we happened to notice was not up to par and signed off on the property. The day we were supposed to move in, Mary arrive 30 minutes late, without notice to the property. The property was in the same condition as when we had done the walkthrough, even though Mary had promised it had been cleaned. We ignored this issue (desperate for a place to live at this point) and moved in with the promise of a housekeeper being sent over to clean the unit. Mary made it extremely difficult to book a housekeeper, so we ended up just doing everything ourselves. During the time of living in the unit, we had some issues, so we called Mary's phone and found that she had been fired. At this point Neville asked for us to update all our license plate information, which was only a month old, I assumed he had lost all of our information.Over the last few months we endured many issues with Neville. Many of the phone conversations that occurred near the end of our lease, when we explained that we would not be renewing our lease happened to be very negative and resulted in Neville hanging up on me and cutting me off during every conversation we had. I did even get in contact with the owners and APM to report the issues that had built up since moving in. APM agreed that they had also had many complaints and the owners were in complete shock. I chose to let go of the situation and cut our losses after Neville told me I needed to have the carpets professionally cleaned, we finally agreed that Neville would contribute to paying half of the total invoice to get them professionally cleaning, since we were going to originally do them ourselves with a machine we had purchased. I hired a man to come clean the carpets at a discounted cost, Neville still owes them and refuses to pay. He also deducted $50 for lightbulbs at the end of our lease.Long story short, the whole ordeal was exhausting and I would recommend that Neville return to Australia and have someone with customer service skills and a business sense take over his company.
