Travelling Light

I may not live in Calgary but I have fallen in love with this blue ring from afar. Each sighting sets my heart aflutter. I care not for the legality of my actions. I will get my passport and travel to wed my love. I will put a ring on it(a slightly smaller ring, of course). I will love the ring until my dying day. The ring may outlive me but our love shall shine on eternal. I may wither and decay but the ring shall never waste or wander. The ring loves me. The ring loves us all.

You know what they say, beauty is in the eye of the beholder... and if you can't see the beauty in the 'travelling light' blue ring, well, you might want to get your eyes checked. This thing is a masterpiece! It's like the Beyoncé of metal hoops. And if that's not enough to convince you, rumor has it that if you stand in the center of the ring and make a wish, it will come true. Now, I'm not saying I've tried it myself, but I did see a guy in a wizard hat and a very long beard doing it once. So there you have it. Five stars for the blue ring, and five stars for making all of your wildest dreams come true (allegedly). Can’t wait for unveiling of the new one that’s even bigger by 5 inches!

You can tell the artist put a lot of thought into the perfect shade of blue. The size and thickness of the ring are a marvel of engineering, and the understated minimalistic nature really lets the viewer have space to project their feelings on the piece. Can’t wait for the second installation of this series.

I’m glad I got a chance to see part of the construction process of this new art installation, I hope we can drive back sometime to see what it looks like when they finish spending all $200,000 on the project. You just gotta love a city that knows the value of art. Maybe if they light it on fire it’ll attract a traveling circus group and help boost the economy.

Honestly thought they were setting up a game of quidditch… turns out it’s nothing but a blue circle with zero purpose than wasting tax payers money. If I were the “artist” if you can even call them that, I’d be embarrassed. I’m embarrassed just looking at it.

I love how creative this is, it’s a blue ring! How much more could you ask for?? It’s a big deal in the art world. This has given me the courage to post my own blue ring and try to make it in every city in the world. I just can’t deal with the amazement this ring given me. I am happy to pay taxes to create amazing art projects like this.Why is it 1 star, well the blue ring is a portal I lost my kids through it.

I thought this was a Sonic promotion for a game or a movie. Turns out an artist made this. But when I heard they were making a second one? Bro it needs to be larger than this!!!! What's the point if it isn't larger. What is this not America? The home of the free and BIG giant rings lol.

Hands down my favourite wonder of the world. Did you know this was added as the eight official wonder?Fun fact: part of the official Alberta Road guide states“When a class 7 driver approaches the “Ring” the qualified instructor (passenger) of the car must enact the tradition known as the “ring of allegiance”, an act completed by all Albertans in which the individual must stop, complete a full salute, and state at least 3 ways the ring has improved their quality of life in the city (these cannot be road related and must be emotional or spiritual). However, should the driver have a classification greater than class 7 or be the sole operator of the vehicle, the operator must safely stop the car, exit the vehicle, and commence the “ring of allegiance” before proceeding with the rest of their journey”Thank you Blue ring…..

got married here in 2013! best place ever! bridesmaids even decided to jump a motorbike over it! not a wedding venue but this is the best place for any occasion, the view of the big blue circle is heaven. i even told my family in germany to come down to calgary to see this masterpiece, it’s really blessed everyone’s eyes and reminds me that gods eyes watch us daily. #peaceloveandchrist
