Progressive Housing Society has provided support services to adults living with mental health issues or facing homelessness. They are a registered non-profit charity, working with over 400 clients in the Burnaby area. They believe and support equality and fair treatment for all people.

If you have housing issues these are the people you.need to deal with.The best in the area for sure. However there still are not any coordinated services for men with children but there are for women with children as a widower with children your situation can only deteriorate here in BC. This genderism in housing and issues of single parents with children in BC needs a lot of updating and improvements still 7 years later I can not live with my children in any form of supportive housing arrangements one day hopefully that will change we call our housing multi family but the defenition of a family is only.based on which parent is declared a primary parent by our legal system and the ministry. kids know they have 2 or even more parents so why can't we accomodate proper family.support ?Maybe another non profit can be created based on single family (including both genders and both single parents) supportive housing that accommodates child visitation properly by permitting visitation ie children living with you part of the time. The trend is more single parent families in a very large scale so properly deal with this rising trend. But until that type of service is created I will struggle to obtain some form of housing that permits child visitation. In a severe Housing crisis and severe issues of low income unaffordable housing kids suffer and single parents suffer for no legitimate reason .The displacement of single working families will continue until these problems are
