Although I am understanding that COVID times are difficult my experience at the Marquis was very disappointing. Not only was the service below average but the food as well. The waiter didn't give us water when we sat down, only took our drink and appetizer order and then never came back to get our dinner order. He went off doing something else and it wasn't even busy (seems like he wasn't trained at all). We got our food (brussels V, marquis burger GF, marquis burger and the taglietelle) - the taglietelle was super bland (limited flavour). The waiter never came by to ask us how the food was - we had to call on him to come over and provide the salt and pepper. The burgers were decent, however the fries were extremely dry. Drinks we order were good, but presentation wise was lacking for the price we paid. For the price this was not acceptable. I will not be returning.

Nice local bar. Cozy seating and atmosphere. AVOID the food at all costs! No joke; the salmon was the worst meal I have ever had. That includes my college years.

Beautiful almost feel local bar, the decor just just right for drinks a appetizers, the service excellent and above. This is a place to totally comeback, I just have some drinks and abs small bites but for sure I will come back for more.

I have never left a 1 star review in my life, but my dinner last night at The Marquis was appalling.I made a reservation for 5:45pm, which I arrived for early with a friend. We were promptly seated, and after a while, a waitress arrived and said it was happy hour until 6. I asked if she was sure, since the website showed it ending at 5:30, but she assured me it was correct. She eventually comes back to take our order, and says she was mistaken and it is no longer happy hour, but the prices were the same, so we happily ordered our drinks and mains. We order the tagliatelle pasta with butternut squash, which is suppose to have baby tomatoes and roasted vegetables in a pesto sauce. I showed her the menu as I ordered, and it is still there. We finished our drinks long before the food arrived at 6:45. We were given a bowl of almost plain pasta with 2 chucks of butternut squash and 4 chunks of raw green pepper, with burnt garlic bread on the site. I flagged the main server and said this didn’t look like our order, and he said that they were mid way through changing the menu and had a new chef, but they will comp us 50% (I misheard and thought he initially said fully comped until my friend corrected me later). He told us it was a pasta in cream sauce, but it was the plainest pasta I’ve ever had. We stared at the food for a while, and he came back and remarked that we weren’t eating it. Because it took almost an hour to get the food and we had a play at 7:30, we ate it anyhow cause we were starving. We wait a while longer and finally get the bill, in which the prices are wrong. We ask him to correct it, and he says the prices online and on our table menu are wrong too, though there is a barcode at the table that link to the online site. He manually changes the prices in a tablet at our table, and walks off. I’m now just trying to get our bill and leave. I try to flag him down, and he says he has 15 other people trying to make the play and 2 machines and walks off, though he could have just billed us when changing the prices. When the waitress finally arrived, it was 7:23, and even though the prices were wrong AGAIN, I just paid so I wouldn’t miss the show. No one seemed to know what was going on.I can honestly say I have never had such a poor dining experience. Not only was the food bad, but the service was awful. Our water was never refilled, the staff were condescending, and our concerns were dismissed. I would never eat there again, and I sincerely hope our experience was a unique one. Even half off (the wrong price) I paid 13 for butter pasta noodles with raw pepper and super burnt toast. In hindsight I should have refused the meal and just suffered through the play hungry, but I felt pressured to eat it. I’ve never been tempted to walk out of a restaurant, but this made me consider it.

Food and drinks were a mixed bag. Cocktails were generally good. People at the table liked the beet salad and poutine. Pasta was okay but the portion size was generous. Fries that came with fish and chips were cold. Overall, pretty standard bar/pub fare, a bit on the pricey side for what it was. 3/5.Service was ... atrocious. I try not to badmouth servers because I get that they are often overworked and underpaid, but this was really, really bad. We had to ask three times to get water for the table. The waitress ignored us when we tried to signal to her and it took >20 minutes for us to pay the bill after we finished eating. Our group of five asked for three checks and instead we got five separate receipts and paid individually. Finally, there must have been a cocktail that involved some kind of smoke infusion (?) because twice during our meal the back of the restaurant became really smoky, to the point that the table next to us was coughing and complained to the server. Maybe consider taking that item off the menu, or investing in some ventilation?

Went for Trivia and unfortunately the connection from the host iPad to the TV didn't work. It was difficult to follow a long, read the questions and listen to the audio clips. The host tried to fix the issues but it only got better in the last round and by then we were all pretty frustrated. No breaks in-between rounds (which could have been used to fix the issue). There was a small turn out and they gave us free shots.I had to go to the bar twice to order a drink, which is fine, but we started off with table service, so I would have thought it would continue, especially seen as the bar was not busy.My advice is to do a practice run before people arrive so there is time to troubleshoot issues. Our group was pretty disappointed.

The food was genuinely bad. Drinks & waiter were so so lovely, ambiance is okay, but nobody in our party (fish & chips, burger, and veggie pasta) was happy with the food. The one vegetarian main was inedibly bad.

Hannah was a very attentive, friendly server,Our host, Simon, made sure we felt welcome and appreciated. While there were some minor food and glassware hiccups, they were swiftly and apologetically corrected.Overall, it was a great place to meet, post theatre, for a delicious meal in a warm atmosphere. We will Definitely be back.

First time visiting this place and I loved it!! We didn’t get any food (although I regret not getting fries because the smell was amazing). We started off with a old-fashioned and a whiskey sour. Wasn’t a big fan of the whiskey sour but the old-fashioned was great! My favorite drink of the night was The Bloom, suggested by the staff there. I wanted something sweet and fruity and that drink was perfection. The last drink was a negroni, which my friend got twice. If you’re a fan of sour/bitter drinks, that’s the one for you.We finished the night with a tequila shot and a pickleback shot, both great. The staff was incredibly friendly! They were willing to do a shot I wanted that wasn’t on the menu and they’ve never heard of before (doudou shot)
