Everything was great and we ate too much. The food is very authentic and great! It's on the salty side and spicy. Have to eat the dishes with white rice.

Went there last weekend. Grilled lamb does not have taste and all the spices are just on the surfaces. Cumin beef does not taste as good as before. Roujiamo is juicy but tastes different from before.

Shaanxi Restaurant's name refers to the northwestern Chinese region for which ancient city Xi'an is the capital. This was where the Silk Road started, influencing use of lamb, bread, noodle in its cuisine. We tasted many dishes when the restaurant offered delivery.For our takeout spread, Lamb Skewers were a must-order item topped by mild spices. It was a bit dry post-delivery. The Xi'an Pork Burger (RouJiaMo) included plenty of braised pork hugged by a flakey bread bun that soaked up its slight greasiness.Huge portions were provided for the main dishes. Beef and Vegetable Hotpot included quite an assorted mix of soup ingredients. We paired it with Spicy Fish Fillet with Dried Tofu. First time trying this dry version of Szechuan spicy fish, the spice level was fairly mild.On a subsequent meal, the Water Boiled Spicy Fish was delicious in an aromatic chili oil soup base. Braised Eggplant was savoury & soft, giving umami undertones. Xi'an Style Cold Noodles were a spicy compliment, while Sautéed Lamb with Cumin was more fatty but reminiscent of the lamb skewers.Shaanxi Restaurant is a good option if I'm on the lookout again for northwestern Chinese food such as cumin lamb. Most dishes do hit the spot, although it's perhaps less about refined flavour & more about affordable large portions on the dish assortment.

Authentic northern china-style restaurant. Good fast service. Prices are fair. I love the Xian cold noodles and a little spicy. It's one of my favourite dish anywhere, anytime. Lamb Skewers are nice and flavourful. The fried rice is excellent.

This place is great! I always loved ordering their lamb skewers so I finally decided to try dining in to try more dishes. Their spicy cold noodles were delicious! Very affordable and tasty.

If you like spicy food, this is a place I will recommend. Authentic Chinese food from the north west of China. They use to also have hot pot couple of years ago and have 2 locations. As of now, this is the only location left and I still love the food there. The great taste of the food are being maintained well throughout the years. The lady owner is super friendly every time she is around in the restaurant.

Too little about the amount for the new year ordering! I still give 3 star instead of 1 cuz they had good attitude when I called in! Maybe just too busy and an individual accident , was double the amount I ordered before!

I like this restaurant a lot. Every time I go to Markham, this is my first choice to have lunch, Real and traditional Northwest Chinese food. Price is very affordable. If you like Real Traditional Northwest Chinese food, this is the place to try.They also have frozen cooked chicken and pig feet, delicious also.

Con: If you dine in - they serve in disposable containers....Which defeats the purpose of dining in. I wanted to eat with proper plates not feel like I just did an ubereats.I hope they can go back to the way they use to serve. Im finding this situation more and more with Chinese restaurants. (thus my reason for 3 stars)Pro: I visited this restaurant not long ago.I ordered the burger, lamb skewers and biang biang noodles.Overall I was happy with the flavour except the burger (the dough is a bit too dry). I would definitely go back to try other dishes.
