Backyard Comedy Club
This place is amazing. Quite simply amazing. It’s not far from Bethnell Green tube station in a rather unassuming building.There is two half’s to the venue. The first is the bar and food area. The drinks are the same as you’d expect and the food is simple but decent. Pizzas, samosas, chips, etc.The comedy area itself is compact and good for it. There are great views of the stage from all seats. It’s well organised.But….it’s the comedians that set this place apart from other places. They have some really big names (we just saw Reginald D Hunter) as well as some less well known people.Of all the comedy clubs I’ve been to this is by far the best. I don’t live in London (or anywhere near it) but this is the fourth timeI have been and will make a special trip just to go.Very very recommended.

I had such a good time here. Food looks delicious, staff is very friendly and a nice atmosphere all round. Really recommend this place for a funny night out.

Really enjoyed the night! One thing I’d complain is the 45min waiting time before it starts and the music was so loud, you couldn’t even talk to your friends.

Probably my favourite comedy club in London. Been a few times in the last few years and always been entertained. They have a lot of up and coming acts and the comedians who will be on each night are listed on the website and the club's social media. Quite often there will be a space left open in the lineup and if you're lucky you might get to see a well-known comedian. There seems to be a regular rotation of the same hosts/MCs but they're always good.There's a bar when you first go in before the main comedy venue where there's a good selection of drinks and you can also order food such as pizzas. There's a ping pong table in the bar too.If you book in advance, you have to exchange your ticket for a wristband around 45 minutes before the comedy night starts otherwise there is a £3 surcharge per person. You can't collect someone's ticket on their behalf.

Get there early … Not that there’s a rush, it’s just that the bar is great, food available, free ping pong, pool, board games and fast wifi.We loved the actual venue. Being able to sit at a table with lots of space made a change from being crammed in and clinging onto a freezing pint glass for hours. Great lighting and sound makes for a cool vibe.We’ve been to see a lot of comedy this year and all across the country. The Backyard Comedy Club puts on a great “New Act Night” where new comedians get to try out their material. While 1 or 2 probably won’t make it as comedians (full time) there were a few who did really well and could make it. However, what’s exciting is being blown away by 2 comedians that you just know are going to be BIG. Nice to have seen them cut their teeth and get the break they need at the BCC.Would we go back? Saw a comedy set that lasted from 7:30pm-10:00pm! Well worth the £5 ticket on a random weekday evening, the selection of comedians was fabulous. Seating was comfortable and airy too, the crowd was fun.

Great atmosphere and value for money. There was some talent from the younger generations of Comedians coming up through the ranks. l would definitely return again for another evening of belly laughs.Snacks and beverages which were served from the bar at London's usual prices.

Really unreasonable when you’ve already paid for the ticket and then get charged £3 for not being at the venue 45mins before the show starts. In addition part of my group arrived 2 mins before I did (also not 45 mins beforehand), and didn’t get charged. Fully understand it’s part of the terms and conditions, however it’s not business good practice nor is it applied consistently. For an independent comedy club would expect less capitalism.
