The Riding Fool - Cumberland's Accommodation

We came here three or four times already, checking in almost same room each time. Cost rised from CA$100 plus to almost $300 per day in past few years. But it fits our needs - shared roomy kitchen, freezer, nice dining table, a large hall, with pool table, super clean and solid built bed rooms, stairs... even bathrooms are equipped with stone countertops. Cumberland village is amazing. Full of peace, historian buildings, relax and friendly people. We don't seem needing AC in summer time, nature wind can cool us down quite well, maybe a fan or two provide enough circulation and make fresh air even cooler. I enjoy the days off here from our routine life while you still connect to the world with free fast wifi in house.

100% recommended. Lovely rooms, great shared spaces, very clean and comfortable, super friendly. Bike storage and a bike hose available. And right in the centre of Cumberland, near shops, restaurants and trails.

Great location, staff and friendly neighbours. A good size kitchen with 2 massive fridges (no freezer). Plenty of space on the eating area with some games, pool table and a nice view to the main street of Cumberland. And! a bike storage!

The staff was amazing. So friendly and they work hard to keep this place clean. The kitchen was great with everything you need. They have a beautiful little patio area. The trails are right there so you don't need to drive anywhere once you get there. I would come back for sure and it's perfect if you have a small group or family traveling together. Thanks to the staff for an amazing vacation :)

What a great little place. Older building full of charm. Check in was seamless didn’t have to even see one staff member to do so. Had a 6 bed private room for my family so everyone had their own bed and space. Comfortable clean linens Didn’t have any trouble at all with shared bathrooms, great location . Overall fabulous. BUT!! One thing to note though, because all the rooms surround the central stairwell , come 6am it’s like every other person in the entire place was hitting the mountains. The noise was unreal. Like seriously loud!! No exaggeration it’s loud!!! Shoes, boots, shouting people, slamming doors every min. Walls are paper thin, you can hear clearly ,word for word of the conversations next door and outside the door. If you come here to sleep in past 7am or have little ones that are light sleepers it WILL be an issue and you will be starting your day at 6am.

Great setup right on the main strip. Big common room with a pool table, old school arcade game, darts, and lots of seating. Easy to use large kitchen. Storage for bikes and ski gear is great, even drying racks for boots and mitts. Trails at your doorstep.

Riding Fool Hostel is immaculately clean... the bedrooms, bathrooms and kitchen! They give you a storage bin for your food for the fridge. Towels are included and the bedding is super cozy. Marie is super friendly and Jeremy can give you advice on routes and trails for Cumberland Forest mountain biking, which is conveniently located right behind the hostel. They have a bike cleaning station in the backyard. Your bike can be safely stored inside on nice sturdy wall racks. Unfortunately they don't have single dorm beds like most hostels but if you're traveling with more than one person, you can book a whole dorm room or many different types of bedrooms. It's very easy to check in as they will email and text you all the pertinent information before you arrive. This is all to say... I highly recommend this place and would come back again and again!

The best MTB hotel. Super clean. Bike room with shoe dryer and plugs to charge your eMTB. 2 blocks from the trails.

Third timing staying here and happy each time. Great room, clean and tidy space and bathrooms. Great big kitchen and common area. Stayed the night before we skied and it was perfect, great location and 5 mins walk to the Mount Washington ski bus pick up.
