Diane and Urs make you feel so at home, they're the kindest people and are extremely knowledgeable and helpful. The food is all homecooked and amazing, you will definitely not go hungry! Definitely a more than enjoyable experience.

They have a very nice spot. Cottage was nice, good food, very nice staff. We didn’t have much luck with catching any fish, had a good time trying though. Would recommend to anyone looking for a nice getaway. Thank You

Auld Reekie Lodge & Motel
Fantastic location alongside the Lake Gowganda. Perfect for snowmobiles with comfortable and functional accommodations. Fuel available, excellent food at their restaurant, and exceptionally friendly staff. Would highly recommend for these reasons alone, but it happens to be strategically located along the trail. Obviously, this would be a prime fishing location for summer as well since it’s situated right beside the lake. Looking forward to next season already.

We stayed for a week. Had the meal plan. Food was excellent and plenty of it. Fishing on the back country lakes and rivers was good. Beds were very comfortable. Cabins were clean and well equipped.

Great place with awesome fishing. We didn't have much luck on the main lake due to its large size but the surrounding lakes have some of the best fishing I have ever experienced. I just wish they had musky.

First trip to Canada to fish and it couldn't been any better. Urs, Diane and their daughters and son treat you like family. The fishing was off the chart and the dinners were absolutely delicious, always with a surprise dessert. Access to other lakes if seeking a specific species of fish. Lodging for the four of us was more than sufficient in one of their newest cabins. Looking forward to returning next June....

Hosts Urs and Diane along with David, Elizabeth and of course fishing guide Extraordinaire Ed looked after us so well! Food was wonderful and all home cooked. I ate too much! Ambience and hospitality are great! Beautiful setting and awesome service. You will feel at home here. We did! I would love to go back! I recommend this for a summer get away whether you fish or are novices like us. Lots to see and do or you can take a boat out or just sit on the dock in the sun and relax. We did! We hiked too. Wonderful wildlife and birds!!!

Great food and great service! One of our sledders wrote a poem about the schnitzel.I went to a restaurant for a mealI never knew how I might feelWhen that schnitzel touched my lipsI felt like doing back flips.Now my poor wife will never succeedAt pleasing me with her pathetic feed.A religious experience to say the least.I'll will forever remember that delicious feast - Kenny
