We were here 3 months ago and compared the offerings. Some of the dishes were very similar, and others completely new. What impressed us most are the dishes where the main ingredients are the same, but the flavors and preparation is new. It's like a good song that gets a refreshing remix. It's easy for a restaurant to stick to what works, but to reimagine the dish takes it to another level. The service here continues to be excellent, fast, and attentive, and their rapid ascent to star status has not made them complacent. Glad to have this wonderful place in town.

Had the pleasure of dining here and trying the 8 course tasting menu with cocktail pairings and it was phenomenal. The quality the techniques used were just amazing. Every dish was spectacular and the cocktails paired beautifully with it. The customer service was outstanding. Thank you for an incredible experience.

What an experience! We came for an 8 course dinner and it was delightful. The service was attentive and personable, the seafood courses were the highlights. There was a smoked mussel emulsion that we were just obsessed with. The desserts were so whimsical and delicious, I’m still thinking about them. Definitely a spot for special occasion.

ENIGMA, Michelin star restaurant in Toronto. went last night for the first time and we were all actually very excited as we all read the gloving reviews. Well, you may ask, how was it ?? let me start chronologically.The hostess was absolutely amazing and her big smile and friendliness was mind blowing. Excitement grew! BUT THEN, we were sat a the table immediately and literally immediately the first course was served with drinks. We actually ordered cocktails and they came the same time as the wine paring and the food. we didnt have the usual time to enjoy the cocktail and then the food will start slowly. we felt rushed. Then, the second course came almost immediately after the first and again we felt rushed and despite us indicating that we have lots of time please slow down the speed continued and that really ruined a bit the evening. we felt like 2.5 hours and you need to be out. Otherwise the service was fantastic like you would expect. But the speed and the subjective feeling of being rushed, 1 star off.Now the cocktails: excellent cocktails all around.5 stars.Wine pairing: almost all whites despite we indicated we like red. some whites were great, some ok. for $150 id expect more.Now to the food: snacks corn, crispy chicken skin, Allium, delicious. just delicious.First course, Truffle custard, fantastic.Second, Japanese Amberjack with Dill, excellent.Third, Salmon, we felt this was a weaker course.Fourth, Lobster plus Brioche, fantastic.Fifth, Cornish Hen Tikka, fantastic Indian style flavours.Sixth, Lamb Provencal disjoining as a main.Seventh, Strawberries, ok nothing special.Eighth, Clementine, delicious just delicious.you can see that not all course delivered especially the main, and an appetizer course were just ok.In summary, the ambience was great, service was great except they rushed us and the speed the courses came out, food was mixed some fantastic courses some eh. Wine was weak. For $230 pp for the food and $150 pp for the wine I have to say I would expect more and we all left slightly disappointed. In my opinion there is better food in and around Toronto, such as Langdon, Pearl Morisette, and Edulis. Will we go back, I am not sure at all.

10/10 dining experience. The atmosphere, food, and service we all on point. We did 1x cocktail pairing and 1x wine pairing. Loved every bit of it.Would definitely recommend for a special night out. As an added bonus, they gave us breakfast to go, so we were still enjoying Enigma the next morning!

I tried the 10 course tasting menu today with cocktail pairing and I have absolutely zero complaints. The courses were delicious and very light, and paired wonderfully with each cocktail. The service was fast, efficient, and the staff was very knowledgeable. I also loved the vibe of the restaurant and the tiled murals.

Underwhelming. Nice plating, food is average, there’s some interesting techniques used but the taste is so-so. Good portion of food. Not really sure about the Michelin star awarded…The appetizers were my favourite. Amberjack was very bland and then way overpowered by the ponzu sauce, thought the squid ink miso sauce mix with the cracker was the spotlight for that course. The turnip cake was good as well, the turnip crisp tasted so good! All other courses are mediocre.

I had a wonderful dining experience here. The service was impeccable, and food was delicious. The 8 course meal was a bit too much for me. I wish there was an a la carte menu. I also didn’t like how there were add-on during the meal for an extra cost. Also, if the reservation is right at opening, the restaurant should open a few minutes before, so we don’t have to wait in the cold. Thank for the small gift in the end, it was a pleasant surprise!

I visited Enigma Yorkville as a solo diner and had the standard 8-course tasting menu with cocktail pairing (230$ + 150$ per person). Everything was spotless, as expected at this price range and for a restaurant that received a Michelin Star. Every dish and cocktail pairing was delicate and thoughtful, the service was fast and dedicated, and I was pleased to see the chef, pastry chef, and some of the line cooks come present the dishes and engage in conversation with me throughout the service. All of the criticisms noted by other reviewers (issues with service being too fast, issues with some of the courses being unbalanced, etc.) simply didn't reflect my experience. I can only imagine that the team has been hard at work improving the menu and experience.
