Starving Artist Waffles & Espresso
Went on a weekday morning and were the first customers when they opened at 10am. The restaurant was clean and the atmosphere was inviting which is pleasantly surprising considering they are tucked in a corner of the plaza. Ordered the chicken and waffles, a bacon waffle sandwich for the little one, and the wife had the churro waffles. They don't serve drip coffee here, so I had a cappuccino and the wife had a chai tea. Everything was tasty, delicious and well presented. I think they hit the mark for a classier breakfast option.

The service was good given they get extremely busy, and can have trouble tending to all patrons entering. I got the Chicken and Waffles, with fruits. It wasn’t amazing compared to other spots I have tried at this price point, there are definitely better food spots if you’re there for the chicken and waffles. The food here is good, not great.

A hidden gem! I’m so over the typical breakfast places in Markham. So happy to have found this cute cafe so close to home. The quality of the food and the ambiance are perfect for a girls brunch date! We tried the almond latte and it was delicious. Eggs Benny with potatoes never let me down here!

Food was good. It was really busy when we went, likely because it was March Break. There was only 1 server (nice Scottish woman), but she was doing way too much all by herself. Maybe someone called in sick, but other than her and the maybe 2-3 persons working in the back, there definitely wasn't enough staff on hand to deal with all the customers.

We had a girls brunch on a busy Saturday morning, we waited for about 15 mins.... the food was great and pretty creative! When you don't need to add any condiments to your food, you know it's good!! The service was good, but they were very busy.... The food took quite a lot of time to be served... If they accept credit card payments, it would have been more convenient.Update: This time came here for brunch with 6 people and we were smart to reserve a table so there was no wait. The chicken & waffles in their Must Try Items are not as good as expected. They are too dry and I wouldn't recommend this dish. The waffles are nice and fluffy! The Sausage Benny & Potato Waffles are really good. The service could be better. I would give the food 4.2 out of 5 stars and service is a 4 for me today.

I ordered the Monte Cristo waffle sandwich via Uber Eats. Definitely interesting in comparison to the traditional offering. The waffle seemed to be a whole wheat batter; chewy where I think crisp would have been better. Overall a nice change and I would definitely try other offerings.

Poor service here. We came in at 4:15pm Saturday afternoon. The restaurant was empty. The lady told me that the last order was at 4:30pm and they close at 6pm. It doesn't make any sense. There was a sense of rushing us out and the place was not busy at all it was empty. While we were eating the lady started mopping the floor around our table and the restaurant was empty the floor was all wet, someone could slip and fall but she never mentioned it. The same lady who was mopping was serving our food, not even washing her hands! In between, so disgusting. I have never experienced this senseless rude customer service at any other Starving Artist. So disappointed. I'll never come back here again.

Starving Artist Waffles & Espresso
Tried the Starving Artist for the first time today. Upon entering, I noticed that they had a couple of new items as a must try. From the list, I found the Churro Starving 4 Waffles, which comes with two sides. I chose the salad as the main for both sides and Mocha latte. The waffles tasted how a churro should be, a bit of a cinnamon taste, and salad with the dressing was pretty good. The Mocha Latte was sweet but not to overpowering where it tasted good. Overall, it's a pretty good place for waffles and brunch.

Starving Artist Waffles & Espresso
This restaurant serves breakfast, dessert waffles and much more . Their drinks are massive which I don't mind at all (I ordered an vanilla almond latte) it was amazing and worth the money. Their potatoes waffles are made to perfection. Crispy on the outside and soft in the inside. Waffle is also made with attention to the the max crispiness without burning. Highly recommend it.

Starving Artist Waffles & Espresso
Sammy Benny was good, but was accompanied by store bought potato salad which was a little disappointing. The waffles were bite size but tasty with a hint of vanilla flavour. Service was average and could be improved. I wouldn’t recommend going out of your way to dine here however if you’re in the area it’s worth trying.
