Do not recommend. Cash, cheque or VISA only. Very messy and disorganised although staff will gather books if you have a specific request. Will not negotiate on any prices and books are priced extremely high. Was shown a New" book at full cover price. Book was kept on shelf with used books and had price and "new" written on the inside cover

Took my family to this store, my daughter's picked out a pile of books, I had not been into this store before so was unsure how the pricing worked. I had asked if there was a multiple book pricing or how it worked. The gentleman working was very rude to me, very blunt. Saying nope

I’m visiting family in Amherst and decided to visit Amy’s Used Books again. I have been here in the past and the amount of titles are a bit overwhelming although the owner does his best to organize and mark the shelves. I have to agree with a prior reviewer about the high prices for these used and in many cases slightly worn books. I think I met the owner who was friendly enough and quite open about how slow business has been since the pandemic. I’m from out of province and travel quite extensively and can find these type of used books at significantly lower prices in most other places. Saying that, if the owner decided to put up a 50% off all titles (except rare ones) I’m sure word would spread quickly and books would start flying off these overfilled and overpriced shelves. It might be worth a shot since I cannot believe a lot of money was spend in acquiring most of the titles in this very large warehouse of books.

A gigantic room of floor to ceiling books! I found some great board books for my 9 month old to read and chew, and a beautiful collection of Brothers Grimm stories that we will enjoy reading as he gets older. I will be back to help build up his library over the years. Definitely worth the trip for any book lovers out there. Stop in and support local!

Great place to go if you're looking for books. The store has over 400,000 books and the worker there is very knowledgeable and passionate about books. We asked him where a couple books were and he found them in a second. Highly recommend this store and I can't wait to go back.

Too much books and verry expensive

Don't come here if u are claustrophobic. Needs to be shut down. Smells of must. Aisles are very close together and very high. Only plus is he knows exactly where everything is.

One of those old school book stores that has books packed in from floor to rafters. The owner will help you find books but you better have a lot of time on hand before you arrive. Books are a bit pricey but if you're looking for something that you can't find elsewhere this is the place to go.

OMG. What a place. There are over 400K books at this marvellous store. We found mystery novels, art books and kids books. We would certainly go back.
