U-Haul Neighborhood Dealer

Got ripped off with fuel policy.Pick-up the vehicle with 1/8 tank and were told there is a $30 fee if the vehicle is dropped off below 1/4 tank so we used it & filled it to 1/4 tank thinking we'd get reimbursed. However only ~$4 fuel refund was issued which, at $2 a litre, didn't cover a quarter of the expense to fill it above the level we received the vehicle with. So we said something and the person behind the counter just didn't know what to do. U-haul later helped resolve it but the personnel at this location were not helpful at all. Do yourself a favor & pick a different location in Vancouver.

Well, after reading all the negative reviews about U-Haul and the prospect of extra charges I was a bit nervous about renting from them. In contrast the rental went like clockwork and no extra charges were levied. I requested a copy of my original booking phone conversation and that took some effort on my part to hold U-Haul to their promise to copy that to my email. After 5 attempts they did indeed send it to me and armed with that on my phone I approached the lovely young person at the counter. But I did not need to prove anything for she professionally checked me in and out. Granted the van was not as clean as I expected but it was good enough for my purposes. I do not wish to counter what others have experienced, but for this old guy U-Haul came through and for that I am profoundly grateful.

This location does not rent vehicles. They just do moving supplies.

Went through the entire online reservation process and AFTER my confirmation arrived with a request to provide 2 of a list of absurd verifications. They wanted things like a passport, work reference or apartment lease! It was something easy to miss as I scrolled down. I was told this was standard to renting vehicles to which I corrected the call centre (thought the guy was very pleasant). Anyway, it's worth mentioning as I'd imagine a lot of customers arrive without those ridiculous demands. I called Enterprise and had a van booked with the standard drivers license and credit card 5 minutes later...

They asked me to drop off the uhaul at 9:30pm. They close at 8:00pm and have no drop box. Now I have to drive there and back again in the morning just to drop off keys with gas at $1.82 a litre. Very unprofessional.
