You just can’t go wrong training with Pro K-9! From the moment I met Jen, I knew I was in good hands. I needed help with my dog, Bandit, who had a few different issues such as anxiety, aggression, and trying to always “be the leader”, just to name a few. Jen did an in-home evaluation, and was able to zero in on what was wrong. I signed up for the Dog Training for Life training class.Jen is very knowledgeable, patient, and is a great teacher. I soon realized it wasn’t just Bandit in training, but that I also had a lot to learn myself in order to become a strong, confident pack leader. After the in-home training, Bandit and I started going to the weekly socializing groups, where I met Mat and Morgan. Mat and Morgan are a great part of Pro K-9 and they continued helping me strengthen my skills in training Bandit. They gave me confidence and feel I have the knowledge and skills to handle most situations that may come our way.Due to all the hard work, training, and dedication from Jen, Mat and Morgan working with Bandit and me, I was able to add another member to our pack! Jen was a tremendous help introducing Bandit and Rigby to one another. Rigby has also completed Puppy Pre K-9, and Basic Obedience classes, and is currently attending socializing groups where Jen, Tina and Rachel helped Rigby and I develop and strengthen our bond. I highly recommend Pro K-9 for all your training needs and I give them a 5-star rating!

We adopted an adult dog but unfortunately she came with some bad habits. Pro K-9 was able to sort them out in very short order. As a veterinary professional, I recommend this trainer. Fantastic work!

I highly recommend PRO K-9. My rescue dog has improved tremendously after working with Jen, starting in-home and then moving to group settings. During the first year I had with my rescue, he was having behavioral issues due to anxiety, but I thought I'd figure out how to deal with him on my own because I'd grown up with dogs all my life. But he simply wasn't improving. Eventually I reached a point where I knew I needed professional help. Jen has a very methodological approach for working with dogs. She guides you on the very fine details that you might be missing but which make a big difference to your dog. The improvement in my dog's behavior from where he started to now is undeniable. My family hired PRO K-9 after adopting a rescue dog who growled at anyone new, destroyed anything he could reach when left alone, pulled on the leash like an ox, and was highly reactive to other dogs (was he excited? was he being aggressive? we couldn't tell). Having raised dogs from puppies, we weren't sure how to approach this dog's behavior problems since he was already older and had established these bad habits.Jen came out to our house and explained what was going on. Our dog had fear-aggression: he was afraid of new people and new dogs, and without the option to flee, he chose to fight (by growling as a warning). He needed to build his confidence in himself as well as in us as the pack leaders. If he trusted us, his fear would lessen. To build that trust, we had to establish boundaries and rules, the way a pack leader would. Without a clear leader, our dog would feel that he needed to step up to the plate.The on-going support that PRO K-9 provides through supervised socializing groups allows our dog to safely interact with new people, dogs, and situations without fear and keeps us connected with the trainers on a weekly basis to check in about issues that may have come up.PRO K-9 not only helped train our dog, but helped train US to understand our dog better, to react to him properly and know how to respond if he had a problem. We think our dogs can read our minds, but they can't. But we can communicate with them if we speak to them in a way they can understand. Jen helped us listen to our dog and learn how to communicate with him. He's still a work in progress (aren't we all?) but he come so much farther because of PRO K-9.

They've been great for me and my dog who presented challenges from a young age. I had a tough time finding trainers that didn't immediately jump to aversives for every problem. I had a great experience with Jen. I live in Canada and was looking for someone to do the Canine Good Citizen (3 levels) with my mastiff. In this, I tried to contact trainers in the Buffalo area and Michigan. Jen was the most responsive to emails, the easiest to communicate with, flexible, and she clearly works very hard.When I met with her, it is extremely apparent that she knows adverse dog behaviors. She was so respectful of my dogs space and considerate of any issues he may have (that being said, my dog lacks behavior concerns thankfully).You can tell by how she carries herself around dogs that she is comfortable, familiar, and not afraid of the behavior dogs."I had a great experience with Jen and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a dog trainer in the area."

We had an amazing experience with Jen from pro k9! She was extremely professional, patient, and knowledgeable. We participated in the puppy training class and had a home training session-both were great!
