The food looks and tastes pretty good for HK style cafe food, but you may feel super full after finishing your meal as portions for the noodle soup are huge and thirsty because of MSG (it’s basically fast food).Had the century egg fish soup base (non-spicy) which wasn’t as flavorful as tom-yum or laksa (both spicy), but went well with chinese donuts. The szechuan soup is very spicy, would not order it if you cannot take spicy. The halibut rice dish looked good too.

Deer Garden is your go-to place for big bowls of HK style soup, perfect for curing hang overs and warming you up over rainy days, or refueling you after skiing.My favorite is their laksa soup base. My sister orders it with thick rice noodles but I prefer mine with egg noodles. Don't make the mistake of ordering too many extra ingredients in the soup, there's plenty of stuff in the bowl with the 2 ingredients you select. My wife though prefers the 'western style rice dishes', which I'm not sure why they're called that because they aren't really western style at all, but fill you up just as well as the soup. Also, if you're craving something deep fried, they use costco fries here which are always so satisfying.Comfortably seating groups of up to 6. No dress code, so you can wear your comfiest clothes and have your sunglasses on indoors while you scarf down your soul-filling meal. The service and ambience here isn't world class but they're still friendly and it's a busy place full of families usually, so you know you're in good hands of professional soup chefs.

This was one of my favourite noodle soup places for a few years. I usually went to the Richmond locations as it was closer/more convenient and the quality and taste never disappointed me. Yesterday I went to this Fraser St location and I felt the service and quality of the food was quite lacking. The soup was good but pretty bland and not much toppings in it at all (please refer to my photo). Service was basically non-existent as me and my friend waited more than 10 mins for a waitress to come take our order slips. I was looking directly at them at the front counter which was literally steps away from our table. They were all playing on their phones and didn’t look up once. When they did take our order slips, it was with a very flippant attitude as if they could care less about you. No thank you’s and we basically could’ve just served ourselves. I suggest they work on their waitresses first and maybe the business will flourish significantly.

Probably some of the nice Hong Kong live food I've had for a long time. Only problem in this area is a parking is pretty bad. Restaurants quite busy. It's nice. Good service, good stuff, excellent food I wish they would have had Singapore style vermicelli on there menu. Other than that it was okay

Noodles is good however fried chicken wings is not. In addition, service needs improvement. Need to ask servers as we have been waiting for a long time for the second bowl of noodles. The restaurant was not busy at that time. Will come back if I am not in a hurry.

Ice milk tea leads me here.I would like to recommend you mainly soup.And by ordering a combo, I hope you try the iced milk tea. A sip of thick milk tea feels like I've consumed all the caffeine for the day. I will also visit next week.

This place offers customizable HK style noodle soups and other classic HK cafe food. The quality is average. They have late night specials and the food is like Asian comfort food. Quite enjoyed their red bean ice which had real fresh red beans in it. The broth of the noodle soups were rich and the portions were generous.

We went there last week for dinner. We love their steamed Halibut with garlic, preserved vegetables and chili dish. The set come with rice and a small bowl of fish soup. They are delicious.

The quality has gone down for sure. Haven’t been here in a while and the prices have increased. This time the beef was tough and not he imitation crab is just red dyed fish cake. I’m not sure when I will come back. Especially at this price point. You could actually eat at a nicer restaurant for this price.
