I just completed my first beginner wheel class with Diane, and I'm hooked! Diane has such calming energy about her, and she leads a really fun yet grounding class (and you'll learn a LOT!). As an added bonus, her property and studio are beautiful! I learned so much in my 6 sessions, and I was pleasantly surprised how well my bowls and mugs turned out with no prior experience making pottery. I highly recommend Diane for any course you may be considering!

I've taken two pottery wheel throwing classes with Diane at Earth Studios and I have loved them both. I recommend the beginners wheel course to anyone who is interested in ceramics and wants to try their hand at pottery. Diane is a fantastic teacher and a true artist.

I always have a blast at eARTh Studios. Diane is hilarious and an amazing teacher! Ive taken her classes multiple times and have really learned to enjoy and appreciate pottery. I recommend this studio to people of all levels. I can't wait to sign up for more of her sessions in the future!

Learning and creating under the encouraging eyes of Diane was an absolute pleasure. She understands the beginner mind in all of her direction and draws us into the story of clay. It is not just a lump on the wheel but a living organic mass that has been millions of years in the making. Once it is all said and done I find myself wanting to dive deeper into its existence and continue to learn in her studio.

Diane has created such a lovely and inviting space at her studio. She has such an amazing energy as a teacher that made for a very memorable class! I hadn’t been creatively encouraged like that since I was in elementary school and she has inspired me to bring more play into my life.Highly recommend!

I have taken many pottery classes in my time. My best experience by far was at eARTh Studios with Diane. Diane is a natural teacher with decades of experience and it shows. Her new teaching studio is well-equipped, serene, inspiring, and enjoyable to work in. She orders the best clay for its intended purpose (wheel or hand building) and her glazes are both gorgeous and reliable. No matter where you are in your clay journey, Diane will be able to help you move forward. The classes are small and designed so that individual student needs can be nurtured. My experience as a student doing an Art-cation was so meaningful…I saw how in centering you become one. With my eyes I could see how Diane lives, breathes with the earth, with the clay! Her warm kind patient heart taught me along with Sierra to create the most amazing pottery that will live forever. Our pots do bare our spirits into the world. I am so grateful and am already looking forward to continuing to explore. I’ve learnt from the best...let the fire within go into explosion and keep exploring your passion for pottery!

Diane is hilarious! She is very passionate and full of zest. I am grateful to have taken classes with her. I took an evening class and it was a perfect way to end my day. I was also fortunate to have a great mix of people in my class - I laughed every class! It was always the highlight of my week.

Diane shared some valuable skills and insight to help us improve and grow our skills, and the fact that each throw classes we got to make up to three items and practice our skills while fresh really improved our chances of creating something to be proud of.

Diane has years of experience as both a teacher and as a potter/production artist. She brings this enthusiasm for both art and education to her classes in her beautiful and intimate backyard studio in Nelson - BC's best small arts town!
