Mountain View Cabins

Absolutely a hidden gem! The staff were great, super friendly and kind. The cabins are cute and comfortable and clean. I can't vouch for all of them but mine had its own full sized water heater, baseboard heaters, microwave, bar fridge, kettle, and two beds. They have a giant fire pit and the signs says nightly fires from 7-10 I think. But not when it's raining. 2 big barbecues, a huge cook house with tables and fridge and sink. I didn't get a chance to socialize but this place is built with community in mind. When I went by the cookhouse it had a bunch of people from different cabins laughing and chatting. Would absolutely recommend and will likely be coming back again soon.

This place is a gem. I visited with my parents in September 2016 - stayed 2 nights and again in June 2023. Rooms are very big, I love that cottage vibe. If you are expecting fancy appliances and a 5-star hotel this is not a good place for you. But if you are into camping/nature, this is the place. Jim is very kind and his attitude is above and beyond. I'm very sad he is selling the place, hopefully, these cabins will remain the same when the new owner takes over.

I recently stayed at this motel and I have to say, I was thoroughly impressed. The view from the motel was absolutely breathtaking and made my stay even more enjoyable. The service provided by the staff was kind and accommodatingThe room itself was clean and well-maintained, with all the amenities one could need for camping. This included a WiFi, microwave, TV, electric heater, small fridge, hot water, and two queen-sized beds. The kitchen was fully equipped with two propane BBQs, knives, spoons, and a sink.

Very cozy cabins. Each cabin has a fridge, bathroom and shower. Very relaxing and great views.

I have to say that the place is adorably dorky and cute. With silly wooden signs everywhere, a campfire and free library outside. It also has a fairly nice mountain lookout with chairs and a hammock. On top of all that it is a decent amount cheaper than staying in the surrounding cities.However one negative really ruined my experience which is that they gave you absolutely no warning that there is NO DRINKABLE WATER. Not on the website, not in the room. The only clue was that they provided 1L of bottled water. I went to the office to ask and they confirmed that if you needed more than 1L per cabin you would need to take a 1h trip to the nearest supermarket.I struggled to decide if I should really give 1 star for this but I can't recall a worse experience than getting to your accommodations after a long day and being told that you need to jump back in the car for a 1h trip to the city you just came from to get something so essential.They have a long welcome email telling you what they have including mentioning a small kitchen and a 3-piece bathroom but somehow they failed to include what is probably the most important thing after your cabin number. Just including that info would probably have bumped this review to 4 stars. But without this it was the most inconvenient place I have stayed in the past 5 years.And I was lucky enough to ask rather than just assuming it was safe (because there was no warning) and getting sick.

Absolutely loved everything about our stay here! Quiet, quaint, and such a cute little yard and atmosphere! Will be back!

The owner is so nice, I was not able to give back my keys because of a highway closure, but the owner did not mind my fault. It was a great stay also, the people around are very nice, and the room was clean, the price is also very affordable in general.

This place is great - we had an amazing stay here in late May. Be sure to look at the photos and read before booking - the cabins are rustic by design but clean and spacious.The location can't be beat, look out over mountains with a cup of coffee and campfire at night - perfection! We stayed only one night but enjoyed meeting other people and getting some tips for the rest of our trip. The owner is great and made our stay that much better with information on the area.Definitely would book again (and already planning to).

Called pretty late in the evening, Explained that my mom was trying to find a place to stay for the night, but Golden was booked up. Janna(Yanna?), Took my phone call, helped my mom out, and got her settled into a lovely cabin. Absolutely wonderful and helpful in every way. Could not say enough kind words about her.
