Poppy Hair Salon

Brooklyn was recommended to me and she was great. I have long hair and want to keep it long but needed more shape. She totally delivered and I will see her again! I also found the quality of service for price was perfect - really good value

I was very nervous and excited to get my haircut for the first time after many years of trimming it myself, since my previous stylist moved away. I have curly hair and have been trying to grow it out. I made sure to say keep as much length as possible, just clean up the ends a bit and add some better shape. During the cut I wasn't even facing the mirror I was looking out the window so I couldn't see what was happening. I tried to have some light conversation as I was anxious about getting a cut and needed to calm my nerves. Josh gave no interest in trying to talk to me or check in with how I was feeling about the cut (since I couldn't even see the progress for myself). I have never been more upset with the outcome of a haircut. I lost most of the little length I'd managed to maintain and can no longer even braid my hair which is my go to hairstyle. I felt very uncomfortable throughout the whole process and 100$ later couldn't wait to leave. I am a bridesmaid in my friends wedding next month and am now dreading how I will look for this special occasion. Very disappointing experience.

This review is to specifically shout out to Brooklyn - I have had white hairs growing in for the past decade or so (I'm 33, maybe 10% grey) and every stylist I have gone to has made some kind of comment about it, without me prompting the conversation. Though the sentiment is usually about how to cover it up, one stylist even tried to empower me once, referring to them as my silver sparkles". After about a dozen stylists over the decade (including two others from this salon)

Got my hair done here a few months ago and only now getting around to reviewing. Ashley is one of the best colorist I’ve had in my 4 years of coloring my hair! I was traveling from out of town and desperately needed a hair touch up before my graduation ceremony, none of the salons back in my hometown could accommodate me before the ceremony. I called around Vancouver a bit and another salon actually suggested I try Poppy. Very nice on the phone, fit me in pretty last minute and without needing a consultation session (which I couldn’t fit in with my trip itinerary). Ashley did an amazing job touching up my balayage. Even though it was her first time working on my hair, she did work that’s comparable to my go-to stylist back home and for less cost! If I’m ever in Vancouver and in need of hair services I’m definitely coming back here!

Carly is probably the best hair cutter in the world. She’s like a hair scientist, I’ve never seen her techniques used by anyone else. I also love that she’s fast! I can always fit a cut into my busy day. I have yet to experience her colouring skills but will update in a couple weeks when I do

I always forget to leave reviews, but Ashley here was absolutely amazing! She did a fantastic job with my colour and was really nice to chat with! Id definitely recommend!

I dropped in to Poppy on a Saturday morning, no appointment, just hoping to get a much needed cut after my lash appointment near by.They were super nice and able to accommodate me :-)I saw Randall for my cut/style and he was great.Quite obviously very experienced and knowledgeable...I LOVE my cut!My regular hair stylist moved to Kelowna about 2 years ago and my first attempt to replace her was at a salon on Main St that will remain unnamed, but suffice to say worst cut and colour of my life.So it was a long time before I attempted a new salon, but I do believe I have found now my new salon and my new stylist!

Josh did a great job cutting my hair. He asked all the right questions, listened, came up with a solution and executed his vision beautifully. I am really pleased with my new look. He also impressed me as a really genuine person and was a pleasure to spend time with.

Ashley is the best! I’ve been her regular client for > 4 years now! She’s definitely an expert in her job. My hair has never become dry or damaged even though I bleach it all the time. Plus she’s so creative; she has this talent for perfectly understanding the taste of each of her clients and always figures out a new look to match their style. Also, she’s very fast! About her amazing personality, Ashley’s the most positive, kind, and funniest person. Lots of respect and love to her❤️

Tamara gave me the haircut of my life. She somehow brought out my cheekbones and made my neck longer?! And she cut it in a way that takes almost no styling. Miracle worker. Definitely coming back
