This is the most difficult review I've had to write. I've ALWAYS been a huge fan of John Street Diner, especially for the budget friendly pricing and excellent service. And while those two still seems to be the constant, the Food was terrible.The home fries were SALTY and had a burnt taste to them. While the eggs were cooked as we asked, the ham and peameal had absolutely no flavor. And to be frank.. eggs and meats all tasted the same. As if they were cooked on the same grill top (with it being cleaned).We'll be taking a break from here.

Clean and quick service. The price is good for the amount of food you get, I usually get the big breakfast for 10$+. The one thing I would change in this location is to change up the coffee selection every once and a while. As the other locations called jet cafe does provide 5-6 kinda of coffee that you can choose from. But other then that the employee's are nice and always smiling and greeting you at the door. I so far never encountered a dirty table. I highly recommend this location for breakfast as I haven't be there for lunch.

My goal today was to try somewhere new for breakfast. Saw John Street Diner on Google and listened to some good reviews about breakfast! The staff greeted us as soon as we walked in and were very friendly and attentive throughout! I was surprised to see a periogi breakfast on the menu and knew I needed to try it! Everything was delicious and super decent prices! Will be back for sure!

Worse breakfast I ever had. Eggs were over cooked, asked for over easy.. got well done, sausage tasted rotten, Margarine was used on toast, not butter.. home fries ( asked for well done) they looked like they were freshly cooked, but biting in.. cold and soggy.

Came here for the first time today, after finding John Street Diner on an internet list of great breakfast diners.Have to say, it was a great decision to come here with some friends.The food was amazing. Had the peirogi breakfast what an excellent. My buddies all thoroughly enjoyed their meals as well.Service was top notch with friendly staff, and the prices, well they just can't be beat.We'll definitely be returning here.

Ordered a few meals from Uber, and I’m not even sure how anyone thought what was served, was ok. Steak & eggs were very poorly seasoned and overall taste was not there. Home fries tasted like they should have been thrown away a couple days ago. Spicy Italian sausage arrived looking like it had been made weeks ago, and reheated. My brother had no complaints about the burger but everything else was EXTREMELY disappointing. We were looking forward to trying somewhere new, but will not order from here again :(Update: my mom told me my brother ended up throwing up and getting sick everywhere last night, and the burger and fries was all he ate.

A group of 6 went and the service was quick and friendly. Got the big breakfast and left pretty satisfied. The home fries were the highlight, real crunch and salty and the coffee was smooth. Good value too.

This place has good prices and large portions! The big perogi breakfast is excellent. It comes with 2 eggs, spicy sausage, perogies with fried onions and bacon, and toast. The eggs are always cooked nicely and the service is always friendly.

Great basic diner in downtown Hamilton! Had the breakfast special - get the bacon - it’s excellent! Eggs were cooked as requested, home fries and toast very good and the coffee even better. What’s not to love? Expect to be back tomorrow for breakfast again on our last day of this visit and will come again when we return!
