Voluntas Commémoration

5 Stars is not sufficient for how I feel about Stephanie and her team at Voluntas. Stephanie and team helped us create unique celebrations of life for each of my parents as they passed. I feel great pride and closure in the celebrations that we created. I have been to other celebrations of life that Voluntas has assisted and they have been unique as those of my parents. Voluntas can handle very traditional funerals to customised celebrations of life. For both of my parents we rented La Maison Tresler in Vaudreuil for the visitation and celebration, which Stephanie assisted with all of the arrangements from piano player to food and keepsakes for attendees. I trust Stephanie and team at Voluntas to handle my own celebration of life after I'm gone. Stephanie is an honorary member of my family now. Thank you Stephanie, you are always in my heart.

The service we got from Voluntas was excellent from beginning to end. They dealt with us with the utmost professionalism, courtesy and compassion. They did not push us into making quick decisions, tried to accommodate every request we made, and never made us feel like we were unreasonable. Thank you so much Stephanie and Dennis and the rest of your staff-- in our most difficult and vulnerable time, you made the process smoother and easier for us.

Voluntas was a gift to us when my mother passed. Stephanie is a perfect blend of professionalism and kindness. Her nonjudgmental support in all the choices and decisions demanded of us in the early days after the loss of a loved one were so kind and thoughtful. We particularly appreciated the availability of simple, low cost options often not available at other funeral services. Many many thanks to Stephanie and staff.

Absolutely horrible experience with this company. They changed the contract on my me and used my Fathers remains as leverage to get payment earlier than agree on the contract. She went as far as to tell my aunt, “well you can forget about having a funeral then!”. The most disgusting tactics I’ve ever experienced. I will never recommend this place, and I will go out if my way to tell people to avoid doing business with them.

The Tait FamilyOn the early morning of December 27, 2022, we were informed by the CHSLD that our mother passed away. We were referred to Voluntas by numerous people. This was our best decision. We can’t thank all the staff enough. They are a family run business that is run with compassion, empathy and hand holding through everything that needs to be done, with no pressure. They all made a difficult time much easier to bear with. Thank you so very much Stephanie, Denis & Gabrielle and the rest of the team for all that you did for us.

Our beloved mom passed away this month and after contacting two funeral home we selected Voluntas. We couldn't have been more pleased with our choice. The Team was great, the facility is beautiful and clean, and the team was by our side throughout the process. Everything went perfect. Thank You Voluntas for all your care and dedication......Pascal

I called Voulentas, St. Jean Blvd on Sunday to ask for an appointment. I asked for Stephanie and made the mistake of telling her I was shopping around for a better price. She was too busy to see me because she had four other prearranged customers that need attending to first but she could call me back on Tuesday, today. She did call back and told me the dates I was interested in we’re booked. When I asked for available dates in the following week, she had two other prearranged customers to see. Somehow I went from fifth on the list to seventh. She obviously was not interested in my business either because I was transparent and said I was shopping around for more reasonable price or maybe I just spoke the wrong language. I lost my mother, my father, 2 of my brothers, never once was I treated with so little respect or compassion. Stay away from this place, you don’t need this type of treatment when you lose someone you care about.

Words cannot describe how pleased my family and I were with Voluntas. Stephanie, Denis, and the rest of the staff (thank you Pierre) were incredible. My father and I were navigating this horrible and painful world of death and all it entails after the passing of my mother, and they simplified everything immensely. Their attention to detail is extremely impressive. They were always very responsive to emails. The venue is lovely. They brought their therapy dog in for my young daughter, which she (and all the guests) appreciated. Our two day event ran incredibly smoothly - I couldn’t have asked for more. I feel that with their help, we were able to celebrate the wonderful life my mother had and the wonderful woman that she was. I will forever be grateful for their help, care, consideration, compassion and gentle & dignified approach during these difficult times. As someone else said, I feel like they are an honorary part of our family.

I cannot stress enough how amazing Voluntas is. When my father passed away, they were so accommodating. They made us feel so comfortable and really stayed by our side during the whole process. Losing a family member can be very debilitating and having to organize funeral arrangements can feel overwhelming. Voluntas took care of everything, their attention to detail is impeccable. I also might add that the space reserved for services is very beautiful, full of gorgeous light. Thank you so much Stephanie and Julie, I will always remember you as you helped my family through such difficult times. I strongly recommend.

My father died unexpectedly and I contacted Voluntas because I had been to a service there before. My choice could not have been better. From the first phone call onwards, I was guided through all the steps at the perfect pace, never feeling rushed or too overwhelmed with the decision making process, even though the service was going to be held within the week. I had difficulty deciding between various viewing and cremation options, but it was not a problem to have several quotes to fully understand the costs involved. Stephanie and her team made everything possible and the room was perfectly set up for the event. They were very flexible and understanding, really taking the time to make sure that we were satisfied with even the smallest details. The service went smoothly, the staff was very attentive to the guests needs and made everyone feel welcome and comfortable. By the end, we left feeling like we were part of the Voluntas family, rather than customers. The staff was particularly lovely with my 7 year old daughter (and all the other children who came to the event) and made her happy. She asked to go back to play with Pierre.
